There are some integration issues on some jets, largely because it's a little "tribal". I can generally tell if you're a "flow", "off the street" or a "SSP" in the first ten minutes and I'll brief accordingly.

I guess? Either way there is a time and place for everything. CRM breakdowns happen quite easily when one party feels threatened. I know that if I got into a plane and the captain wanted to play stump the dummy we won't be flying after that leg. It's on them to explain to the CPO why CRM broke down and "the mission" was compromised.

I don't play "stump the dummy" because often times, I AM the dummy! :)

I have, however, had situations where my copilot will ask a question about something, I have no idea what the answer is but will refer him where I'd find it, but then he asks a follow-up question to the initial query.

That's when I "Lebowski" and say, "Far out, man."

My school of thought is that systems knowledge is cool, but it's also a trap. If you look at the electrical schematic of the 320, it's not a schematic, it's largely a heavily simplified logic flowchart. When you compare that to the actual electrical schematic, there are all sorts of unicorn glitter, sea serpent dung and "aroo?!" that you'd never have known was in the system at all.

So it's like two people reading the Cliff's Notes to "Beowulf", having never actually read the full novel, but expecting to have a cogent discussion. Then the author (a mechanic) is going to walk up and say that you're both full of crap. :)

In the meantime, I am going to study as much as I can these darn jep charts because my brain looks at it and it just does not flow like the govt charts. I need some time to acclimate myself to that layout, as all of my approaches and IFR flying was done utilizing govt charts.

When I get out of the school house sometime next month and am "blessed" with MSP I'm gonna start stalking you. That is assuming I don't turn into a human popsicle on day one. I've finally lived in Phoenix long enough that anything below 60F is arctic territory for me.

Haven't heard or seen that yet. Let's not forget. The guys in this thread questioning you have:
1) worn a full suit to indoc. 2) given bad bidding advice to a fellow member. 3) live in Texas and thinks it's the greatest (with Jersey being close behind, and said the 737 was better than an Airbus and then changed their mind when they went back to the Airbus) 4) live in the most overrated town in Colorado.
