Anybody been hit with a laser beam?

Got hit on downwind for 24R into LAX a coupa years ago. I was flying, saw a flash, looked over to see what it was and got nailed directly in the eyes.

Luckily I looked away immediately and there wasn't any lasting damage but man, I was pissed. If I could have rolled in and shot back I would have.

You point a laser at an airplane you get charged with one count of attempted murder for each person on it, IMO. Terms to run consecutively. Shows an utter disregard for the lives of everyone on that aircraft.

Twice, both times it broke a apart all over the cockpit and I thought, "Oh look, we're getting lasered. Why do people get so worked up about this?"

Even if we wanted to be super cool and pretend like it was a big deal, what are the Mexican Federales going to do?

So... You've never actually been hit by a laser. Your PLANE has been hit.

No need to try to be super cool if you actually take a beam to the face, especially if it doesn't refract through the window.

Yes, multiple times. One of the times was a repo leg leaving AGC, we reported it to ATC and apparently we were #6 to report it. So, ATC asked if we could circle the laser so the police could pinpoint the culprits. It didn't take long for the police to find the Lear flying circles at 2000ft.

It probably wasn't just a laser.

First time 2 nights ago over Yakima. We were at 16,000. It was a green laser and I looked right at it. It didn't really cause any harm to my vision but it was bright.

It's basically a weekly event in the airspace I work along the Mexico border from MFE to BRO that someone says they got hit with a laser. Sometimes it'll happen further north around Corpus Christi, but not too often there.
And related story, one year when I was 6-7, I got a red laser pointer for Christmas. Shined it straight into my eyes from a couple inches away a few times. I've got pretty terrible vision, may or may not be related.

Two pilots from my company got hit with laser beams a few years ago. One was in Denver and the other was near Minneapolis. The laser beam blinded the pilots and the police couldn't find the culprits. I never thought about this being an issue before. Has anyone else ever been hit? It almost sounds like a SCI FI movie.
Another pilot was kneeling down in front of the Jepp cabinet rummaging around for some obscure plate book. He was holding a combo flashlight/laser pointer in his right hand, using the flashlight to probe the dark recesses of the cabinet. I came in to grab some charts. I was on his right side as I started bending down toward a lower shelf. Just at that moment, he popped up from his kneeling position. His laser smacked me across the left side of my head and caught my left ear. So, yes, I've been "hit by a laser". #truestories
