Profit sharing back at AA

This.

Seriously who? Sounds like a prep company that needs to be avoided.

Why avoid a company that warns applicants about terrible dynamics of a company and ranks it last behind all the other majors except UPS when everything is backed up by posts here?

I'd much rather be warned and spend my efforts elsewhere then get accepted and spend the entire new hire training thinking about leaving for United or Delta.

Yea avoid AA and stay at your regional or wherever. I made 16k in flight pay last month on third year pay. But the culture, it's soooo terrible. Lol@

Hey everyone needs a safety. I'm sure the culture issues will be resolved as the old crowd with personality issues retire.

KDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently saw my first sticker. It was in the CP office. I told the CP "lemme get a KDA high five."

What is 'culture'? I'm serious. Once you get out of indoc and onto the line all airlines are the same. You can fly with an old, grumpy guy at jetblue just like you can fly with some hipster at AA. When you pick an airline, well, when they pick you, all that should matter are pay, QOL and job security. I don't care about some dumb slogans or mood lighting in the cabin. Those don't pay my mortgage or buy corvettes. But to each his own I guess. [emoji848]

I would avoid them because that's terrible career advice. To limit your options based on culture is silly IMO, but I suppose whatever floats your boat.

I work at one of those companies with great culture, and I would never advise pilots to limit their options. If you are looking to move up, then apply to every legacy/major is what I always say. Besides, you don't have to make a decision until you get a job offer.

Very valid input. Perhaps part of it was a bit of bias for another airline on the consultants part.

Why is that interesting?
The top brass doesn't want to spend money on their feed except where it is specifically needed in their eyes. Basically new hires. Improving the overall contracts and adding proper compensation for the FOs is something they are trying hard to avoid. This is evidenced by the new hire bonuses and a short 2 year bonus only for the FOs valued at $20k total. Only Envoy took the 2-year bonus thing but Envoy already has a lot of the stuff PDT and PSA need in their contracts such as 100% DH pay and better retirement.

Meanwhile at Endeavor all pilots are getting $20k/year on top of improved pay rates for FO's. Other airlines are at $36/hr+ with new hire bonuses which as you know is a far better deal than a temporary bonus.

I don't follow???

The PDT and PSA MECs turned down the $20k bonus for the FO's. The bonus schedule would have been $2500/quarter for 2 years. Some FO's would rather call JG Wentworth rather than wait and get what they deserve in the form of a permanent pay increase.

I think the above poster is just salty about not getting his money noooowwwww.

Nah. Our union will probably decline it because, in their words, bonuses are a gimmick.

I support our union not accepting the $20K FO bonus. The union represents ALL pilots, not just FOs. Half of a pilot group getting a bonus and not the other half seems like a divisive tactic on management's part if you ask me.

That being said, I don't think they will turn down the profit sharing. It is something being offered to all AAG employees and isn't specifically aimed at just the FOs of the wholly owned regionals. We shall see though.

Envoy doesn't get 100% DH pay and they were rolled into a worse retirement then before since the bankruptcy.

One other thing people don't get is the FO "bonus" shouldn't go to everyone because its a RETENTION payment...for FO's..... NOT Capt's. AAG doesnt want all the old crusty's sticking around making even more money They want them to flow. They want the experienced FO's to upgrade and flow at their current shops to show movement as a hiring lure.

Why should a pilot be punished because he came to PSA with a type rating or prior experience and upgraded? And why should the pilots who have stuck it out here through the really bad times be punished? Everyone deserves a bonus. Not just FOs. And they may just start offering retention bonuses to all when our flow doesn't increase this summer and CAs who are currently 3-4 years away stop sticking around.

If you are basing your opinion of an airline on this forum you are an idiot. Just calling it how it is.

Please don't come here, you're right. Keep waiting on UAL and DAL to call.

A temporary bonus is bad. Most other regionals have used permanent improvements to get and retain FOs. A pay increase is what they need to get and keep FOs.

The retention bonus is only 2 years. It loses value every quarter for a new hire. Increasing first year pay to ~$37/hr like all the other regionals have been doing would get FO's more money and future FOs will also benefit. The AAG people just want a temporary fix so they can reset FO's back to poverty wages if the hiring environment somehow improves.

(Points to self). Putting apps out on every overnight lol.

I know all of that, just being sarcastic.
