I think as a low time newly minted Caravan "Captain" the big take away is both being pressured into going (either by yourself or others) and starting to feel like SkyKing or something and that you can handle anything. I've been pressured into going and had it turn out poorly and promised myself I would never let it happen again. But the more I fly the more I see that experience (or worse yet perceived experience) can start to override proper judgement. Hard to find a happy median sometimes...Just hotel thoughts.
That happens, to some extent, as we gain experience. When I was flying 135, I started going down that road of pushing crap I shouldn't have. Then I went 121 a few years ago and did a major reset on my thinking.
I look back on the stupid crap I put up with in 135 and just shake my head... Let's just say I'm EXTREMELY lucky I made it through that portion of my career unscathed.

Same here. But that is how you should feel. Everyone should be able to look back at that stuff and shake their heads. What is said, a large percentage of people I have met that are older, don't share those same feelings (in the 135 world). In fact, they embrace the so-called "grey" areas and exploit themselves in the process. Hell I just met some 50 year old wierdo at boca Raton who was going to sleep inside the PC-12 he flies because the company will give him 50 bucks instead of buying him a hotel. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground. People like that are more willing to bend regs, ignore regs and don't learn from that stuff. Unfortunately I know that type all too well, as do many of us.
I can remember the runway being icy at KSOW while landing the Chief there. Using the short runway because the long one is closed. Touchdown, start skating on the ice and can't stop; pour the coals to it and get back airborne. Then try it again the opposite direction which is slightly more uphill and accept a tailwind, manage to just get it stopped after plopping it on to brick one.
All for some boxes.

At 0916:00, the pilot said, "should be able to compression start it once it gets in the air." The copilot's seat occupant replied, "seriously?", and the pilot stated, "yeah." The copilot's seat occupant asked, "why would, why would you say that? I mean is there something that the air will do that you can't do here on the ground?" The pilot replied, "yeah it ah it turns the blades over." The copilot's seat occupant asked, "when will, when will you start it?" The pilot replied, "well we're gunna pull the ignition on as soon as we start ah as soon as we get rolling." (NOTE: The SN-601 AFM abnormal procedures section specifies that N2 RPM be greater than 50% for use of the immediate engine relight procedure, and the minimum airspeed in the normal relight envelope for a normal engine relight without starter is 200 KIAS.) At 0916:48, the pilot called the tower, stating he was ready for departure. The tower cleared the flight for takeoff on runway 10L at 0917:01.

Yeah, 135 sucks in a lot of ways that aren't going to change. But you don't have to fly broken airplanes held together with hope and baleing wire. There are jobs in 135 that don't make you want to end it all...you just can't live in South Floridistan.

Is that a ferry procedure or with pax? I would be very surprised if it was legal with pax but I have no experience with a Falcon.Relevant triva:
