Turning into the ramp in ATL is when I want most to be lit up... that's far more potential for a collision there with the crazy tug and bus drivers whizzing by on that roadway. Yup! If I'm taxiing, I have the landing lights extended as well... that way they are ready to go if someone needs a little extra nudging that we're there.

Maybe he was stopped on Mike and distracted while he was watching his FO calling for clearance into the ramp on guard.

I do during the after landing checklist, and when the PNF.

Most CA's will give me/let me take the plane after the before takeoff checklist when it's my leg. A pretty good portion will ask if I want to take it to parking after landing. I like it!

I'm certainly not agains the practice of filming/photos. But in terms of career TEM, I'm hesitant to throw stuff on the inter webs.
