Now that there is a class date involved I suppose I can go around and out myself as one of the people who have benefited from huge amounts of help from this community.
Many thanks to @Polar742 @dasleben and @Gonzo for helping me to somehow convince Atlas that I will not be terrible at flying their 747s.
This community is an amazing place and my life would be much worse if it didn't exist. Since the whole interview process started, the song that keeps popping into my head is "I get by with a little help from my friends" because that is truly what has happened. There are many people who are more deserving and I plan on doing my best to carry on the theme of this community, which is paying it forward.
Also, all of you who said nice things before you knew who it was, you have two hours to take all of it back without penalty. :-D
Or is it a food "pyramid"?
Sweet! Congrats on the new gig. That interview was intense, eh?
Thanks! I didn't think it was too terrible. Basically as described by others. I got the feeling they weren't seeking perfection, just people they could fly a trip with and not want to strangle.
Glad to hear! My experience was a little different then...but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed either. Either way, great news. Best of luck in training!
Haha, so does that mean I passed the Tier 1 interview?!? Perhaps I'm a sharper tool than I estimated.2% monthly attrition rates change things.

Meh, humility is good, but you know you've worked your ass (you can totally say that in here) off. You deserve it.You're wrong, but thanks anyway for the kind words. Before the interview they were showing a presentation saying "we have over 1,000 applications on file." I felt like raising my hand to ask exactly what in the world I was doing there.

Excited for you brotha maing.
Congrats, @Screaming_Emu !! From reading all your posts over the years, you deserve it!!

Expect about 2 months off after training.I appreciate the kind words.
I definitely want to make it down there, the question is of course when. I start a trip on Friday, have two days off after that before I start another four day. Start class the day after that trip ends. I am trying my best to get someone else to pick up my last trip so I can have time to prepare, but I very much doubt that'll happen.
Related: Any XJT CRJ-700 FOs who might want to pick up a trip in DTW that starts on the 17th and ends on the 20th, commutable on both ends. Feel free to let me know! :-D
Either way, supposedly after I finish in MIA there is a pretty good wait before beginning IOE, that might be realistically our best bet. Will definitely keep you advised.
Very glad you found something more fitting for someone of your experience!

Your posts about considering a jump to PSA were making me sick!Very glad you found something more fitting for someone of your experience!
Don't sell yourself short, an airplane is an airplane is an airplane
Excpet for when it's a 747. Then it's badass, and I hope he's got some of that initial airline pilot excitement for it before it becomes another airplane.Don't sell yourself short, an airplane is an airplane is an airplane

Oh I wasn't saying it would be boring. Just that every airplane is different and you just figure it out, regardless of what you've flown in the past. He's got plenty of line flying experience.
