Ameriflight

So AMF is getting a new president? Brian Randow COO at Compass.

The way it has been communicated to me is that Lotter took the VP of Ops or Flight, and brought in a new President. It's a good thing as I feel that Lotter adds a lot of value to the Ops Dept. Big fan of Lotter's. Only Sr Mgmnt person who would give me a straight answer to questions and not BS through it, or talk ish about me after I asked the question.

New flying that starts Monday means that a few Bro crews arent going to have a life for the next few months until more people get hired/trained.

It's a vicious cycle, "We don't have enough pilots!" Hey we're going to add more flying!

Never thought I'd see the day where they were looking for street E120 captains. Things must not be getting better
I just remember that being pretty unmotivating when I was a 99 guy, seeing guys getting direct hire in the type rated airplanes at the time. There's probably a handful that do want it that are already here. Hopefully they get it

It isn't the first time with the 120 though. There was a direct hire captain when I got here 2 years ago when things were pretty well staffed

There is a new run in the Southwest region, and no, that is not a typo. It is a PIC position on the Brasilia.

More smoke and mirrors; this is NOT new business. This is an existing run (PHX-LAX) that DHL is changing from a 1900 to a Bro. It's an overnight run that leaves PHX at around 11pm and gets back around 3am.

I feel like the 1900 guy should be offered the Bro slot then, why even let it out to bid?

He left to go fly 37's in Hawaii. He would have been given a shot, I think.... But, because of the internal politicking going on, even the ACP has no idea how upgrades are being divvied up. Also, the 2 guys who they DID put up for the upgrade failed their 1900 type rides. Then, one promptly followed with a prop strike on a stack of cones and decided that he wasn't cut out for Ameriflight. Shall I continue? I just don't want to get pilloried by others claiming that I have no idea what I am talking about. I do have pics of the prop strike, however. Pretty epic, if you ask me.

Oh I'm not claiming what you're saying is false. Just surprised to see a street captain posting.

I know that it isn't you who would post negative things about me, or not believe me. There is one very highlighted example of that occurring within this thread. And, interestingly, it turns out that a mutual acquaintance called me on the phone to relay some interesting, albeit completely erroneous fodder that others have had to say about my departure from the organization.

Well, to be fair, the bid is for DFW and that is new business. Great idea given that we have exactly the number of pilots that we do flights...

The cone thing needs to stop being put entirely on the pilot. Most ground things for that matter.

I was there when the sequence happened, only I happened to be out of the blocks and doing my run-up when he hit them. This particular pilot was issued a deviation 2 weeks after the prop strike. At what point does personal accountability and responsibility come into play?
