Mailman Goes Postal — Lands Gyrocopter on Capitol Lawn

It hardly sounds like he was keeping quiet about his plans, so was this a Homeland Security fail, a Secret Service fail, or a TSA Office of Security Policy and Industry Engagement Division fail?

Flying around the SFRA and FRZ is hard enough without jerks like this making things rougher.

There was a Park Police UH-1 orbiting near the Capitol earlier today...guess that was why.
 
I got to the two minute, fifteen second mark on the video.

One might possibly admire his longterm tenacity but it seems a pointless and quickly forgotten protest, to me.

Perhaps I'm wrong and it will make a lasting difference, though ...

For some reason this reminds me of that Cessna that landed in Red Square back in 1988 or 1989. Or that Cessna that tried to land in the White House lawn when Clinton was in office.
