Mailman Goes Postal — Lands Gyrocopter on Capitol Lawn

I think it was a beautiful, crazy, act of civil disobedience. I predict he doesn't do any jail time and a presidential candidate will capitalize on the event.
Assuming this guy is squeaky clean prior to this, of course...I withdraw my prediction if he turns out to be a member of some right/left wing cult!
 
Awesome. Maybe he remembered not to squawk 1200.... I am sure this results in more fun for those of us who fly in the SFRA and FRZ.

Agencies got surprised/embarrassed. There's no way he's not gonna get his dookie pushed-in.

Personally. I think this should make the case for repealing the FRZ and the SFRA and P-56. Since all those things are supposed to prevent this incident and the Cessna landing on the White House lawn. These incidents just show that even with the airspace restrictions they still happen. So why have the airspace?

I'm guessing that the stinger battery protecting p-56 decided not to or was unable to engage.
 
Unfortunately I'm skewed with my view, that this bad publicity public ally shows flaws in security, which can ultimately lead to an act of terrorism. Thanks, asshat
 
Not in response to anyone here, but how do you defend against an ultralight(gyro) or an RC or a drone? I don't you can shoot it down with any military SAMs, throw rocks?

Congress has been needing some serious fat trimmed off of it for a long time now. A good urban renewal, of sorts, of the bloated bureaucrats that we collectively are too dumb to vote out, or keep voting in.

At least the Army enlisted crew chief made it all the way to the White House lawn in his stolen UH-1 Huey.

Whole reason Army aircraft have keys now.

It's sad when republicans have gone so far to the middle expanding government more than the left, that we consider a constitutional conservative wishing for a return to the original intent of this country a "right wing extremist".
That said, now that you mention it, it would not be good for the movement if it turns out he is a tea party-er. :(
 
Do we need any more proof that homeland security is just a smoke and mirror show at all levels? The guy tells everyone what he's doing, and he still manages to do it.
