American Pilots Hate New Uniform

I really have the feeling that I'm going to be walking through the terminal, get jumped by some stranger in a pilot uniform and he's going to run away shouting about "We will crush Southernjets" and both me and my crew will stand around wondering "What the deuce was that all about? Odd." as we check the board for the connecting gate.

You're not going to be "that guy" are you? :)

Cmon man, lighten up.

I'm gonna get a buddy and thrash derg in the terminal SNL style:

I think you spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about me and/or my employer! :)

Minecraft is a lot of fun, bro! :)

I guess I have a chip on my shoulder for DL. I think it's the fact that I was treated pretty unprofessionally two different times on the Jumpseat (and wasn't given the time of day many other times) as a regional pilot. It stuck with me.

I like the guys I work with. They never look down their nose any anyone. I think that's important. We all do the same job.

You can always stop responding too. :)

I got an earful of "Skipper's Got a Case of the Mondays" on UAL and, well, it was that guy and not the entire airline. That's fine, I got a free ride to work and he got a chance to attempt to bully someone who really didn't care.

One Hmong refugee stealing your wallet does not imply all Hmong refugees want to steal your wallet.

The chip on the shoulder, ehh, I would suggest letting it go. Angst is like drinking poison every day hoping it will hurt your adversaries. And they're not even cognizant that you're an adversary and generally have nothing to do with your experience if you don't ask and talk about it.

I had no idea. But to everyone reading the rantings, you're the guy with the hard on for Delta. See what I'm getting at? :)

We'll drink a beer and sort it all out one day.

Life's too short to rant and have a hard on for others. Don't believe that's the case. I've had a lot of time off and I enjoy discussion and debate. This is a great forum. I guess I do not have a chip on my shoulder, just don't care for arrogance. Just doing my due diligence and calling guys out for dishing it out (as you do) and not being too good at taking it when I see it :)

Growing up in my house, if someone wasn't busting you chops at the dinner table something was wrong. Giving each other a hard time is fun. I'm too laid back and again, life's too short.

About lax, american is owed a certain number of gates because of a deal made when they merged with TWA. So basically every gate that comes up will be Americans first right if refusal.

I heard that once lax builds the new midfield concourse that aa will be offered the whole concourse.

Chicago worries me because all I see is e170s and I know Doug, he doesn't like competition. What if he just gives up and tells united "you win".
Interesting I didn't know that info.

I'm curious why you say he doesn't like competition? For the previous two decades before Parker got a hold of Airways, Airways was the one abandoning hubs left and right. Parker came from AWA that was in permanent competition with SWA, and succeeding at it. I can easily have a discussion of why I don't like Parker, but I'm not sure him being afraid of competition would be included in that.

That's too bad. I really liked the double breasted once I put it on. Almost everyone did in fact. The truth is while 62% preferred single breasted, that was taken before the double came out and was not indicative of the wear testers feedback, who overwhelmingly preferred the double breasted once putting it on.

It looked really sharp. The one above just looks like a run of the mill pilot uniform.

Hopefully the quality is good and we can get the company to reimburse us for uniform items in the future.

IT really leaves a lot to be desired at this place. How does the leather look?

I'm told they are sending us another batch of uniforms to wear. Not sure when that will be. It'll have to be sometime later this year if they want to stay on track for the April 2016 release date IMO.

From what I've heard it's the standard bomber jacket though. I don't care for it but I realize many people spent ~$400 on the thing so changing it or not allowing it you'd have a mutiny on your hands. Most will keep wearing it regardless of what happened (I don't really blame them).
