American Pilots Hate New Uniform

Which makes me wonder about the legacy US bases. JFK, DFW, MIA, DCA and LAX will be fine. But what about PHL, ORD and especially CLT and PHX?

I think PHL will be around for some time. Plenty of originating traffic out of the airport and you can't cram any more flights in to JFK.

I also think ORD is in the same boat as PHL in terms of originating traffic.

I think CLT will remain, although nothing like it is today. AA has been wanting a Southeastern hub for quite some time. BNA and RDU didn't work out... CLT might.

I think PHX doesn't rise from the ashes.

If their answer to combat Delta is some stupid sticker, I'm all for it. If they ever figure out how to actually compete, then I'll worry.
Does this have anything to do with treating your employees like they are valuable?

PHX and CLT will be small connecting hubs to the smaller cities in the region. I seriously doubt CLT will have 700 daily flights in 5 years. It won't close or end up being the next PIT or CVG but at best It will be like what SLC is for Delta and what DEN is for United

Once the post-bankruptcy management team realized that well taken care of employees meant happy, repeat customers, a lot of things changed for the better.
Are you trying to say dougie doesn't take care of me???

Listen Doug you clearly don't know the other Doug. He cares for me. You don't have access to the crew news where Doug shows how much he cares with his diet Dr pepper in hand. That mean he cares. KDA!!!

Diet Dr. Pepper. LAAWRD! :)

I see CLT continuing to grow to a point (they are already building another N/S runway) and I don't think PHX will stick around. CLT will be a big hub in the next 5 years because of its geographic location. No other city in the south (besides ATL) can serve this purpose as far as I can tell.

They are investing in ORD. Not worried about that one at this point IMO. Also growing PHL internationally, CLT is losing international stuff and AA management recently told the airport to skip building the new international terminal. LAX is so restrictive and will lose even more gates as traffic increases as the airport shutters them. I'm not sure what PHX looks like from a numbers perspective. DL has used SLC like US has used PHX, to service all the smaller western airports. I'm guessing most of the Mexico stuff will transfer to either LAX or DFW though.

Although I will say it seems except for DCA LUS had the worst hubs absolutely imaginable. UA definitely has the best.

Have you been watching the profits?
Current pilot contract?
-better at DL.
Future earnings?
-DL is going to get smoked.

About lax, american is owed a certain number of gates because of a deal made when they merged with TWA. So basically every gate that comes up will be Americans first right if refusal.

I heard that once lax builds the new midfield concourse that aa will be offered the whole concourse.

Chicago worries me because all I see is e170s and I know Doug, he doesn't like competition. What if he just gives up and tells united "you win".

I really have the feeling that I'm going to be walking through the terminal, get jumped by some stranger in a pilot uniform and he's going to run away shouting about "We will crush Southernjets" and both me and my crew will stand around wondering "What the deuce was that all about? Odd." as we check the board for the connecting gate.

You're not going to be "that guy" are you? :)
