Hilarious Lego Airline satire video

We don't have too much of this on the 767 at my shop. But when I bid over to the 747-400 next year? Hooooo boy. I've even been told "You won't fit in there."

But, I like money.

The 767 was "Where we eatin' tonight? What time does happy hour start? Should we all do a Big Mike's Fat Tire Bike Tour? Monaco? Skiing in the mountains?"

The 330 was "No one knows what they're doing, I have some secret manual no one else has seen that we had at 'Brand X' that is the real way you fly this airplane. We're surrounded by idiots and I'm the only person on earth who knows what he's doing. I'm the smartest person on earth. Are you coming to the 'drum circle' at the hotel bar to talk shop and drop names?"

Man some of you guys must be a real joy to fly with. I get the not wanting to get into religion or politics, but c'mon don't you think that rebuffing attempts to talk about the other guys hobbies (even if they are big time #captainproblems) makes you equally guilty in the "work work work work the contract work" thing?

I don't do politics or religion.

Ever.

Even people I sense who I'm congruent with, nope.

It's never ever ever. Eva eva eva… eva eva evaevaevaeva worth it.

You know, it's really not that difficult to get along with people. Don't talk about yourself too much, ask questions about them, don't push their buttons, and before you know it, the trip will be over. I'm not looking for friends, but I'm also not looking for enemies. I easily adapt to other people's personalities, while at the same time, staying true to who I am. It's really not rocket science, but it seems a lot of people don't grasp this.

It's pretty easy.

However…

Some people bring "home crap" to work with them where they're either BMOC or they're getting bullied by a spouse at home and want to project that into the work environment.

Yeah, I should have given my statement an *. So here it is.

*With that being said, some people are hopeless and deserve the silent treatment and/or a swift kick in the nuts.

One guy just wasn't going to be happy until he got his chance to complain about post-merger procedures and express his disdain of his present employer. I just put everything away I was working on, let him "hold court" and once he finished, my only response was "I can't do anything about any of that, boss-man says fly the jet and we'll shower you with money, so I do that. Whats good to eat in Baltimore?"

I try to a oid politics and religion, even though I'm fiend for a good debate. I've found the conservatives love to break into their diatribe often unprompted and are genuinely surprised when I'm not enthusiastically agreeing with them.

Depending on the guy, I'll let let them say their thing and maybe just pitch them some softballs like "So if Romney was president, ISIS wouldn't exist?" Not disagreeing with them, just trying to steer them from vitriolic blame toward maybe reasonable solutions.

But there is one horrible thing that this video missed: CHEERFUL CHATTERS IN THE A.M. VAN.

If the van time is before 8am, nobody needs to be having fun, giggly conversations. The less talking in general, the better.

Nothing worse than a chipper person at 6am. Just shut up and let me ease into the day.

Wasn't trying to advocate that. What I was attempting to say was, avoiding politics and religion still leaves hobbies and even if the other guys hobbies are #captainproblems like sailboats, ranches, and turbine Bonanzas it can actually be interesting and is at least polite to try to listen and engage in the conversation (which I'm pretty sure you'd agree with, but the topic was broached by others in the thread).

Oh sure, for the sake of getting along. But going out for beers on an overnight? "Nah, sorry, I'm a little tired."

This seems somewhat relevant when discussing the topic at hand.

I flew with a ridiculously angry FO. I'd tend to take an extended bathroom break and just leave him various places when I had "enough".

I felt no guilt.

I refuse to play "Daddy Daycare" for some ladies grumpy husband on a five day trip. I'll listen to anyone and try my best to be a empathetic person, but there reaches a point where a persons boiling frustration blends with social aggression and I'm just… done. :)

I cannot agree more about the morning van thing. FAs are by far the worst about it. I don't want to be up at 430 in the morning, much less hearing the FA's cluck about whatever the kardashians are doing this week or how the cokes were in the wrong place in the cart again yesterday.

With that said, I'm overall a pretty good gauge of people. If they want to get into politics or religion, I can tap dance around enough to see if its going to get heated. If it is, I'm pretty good at diverting.. if not, sure as long as it doesn't get distracting.

Granted, it helps that I'm generally annoyed at both sides of the political spectrum, so if they want to bitch, I can help them bitch. :) I've found religion doesn't get brought up much at all. I'm a sound engineer at my church as well as play bass and guitar there, so that gets brought up from time to time but I make it very clear I'm not looking to start some religious discussions... music and audio production is a passion of mine and that is my venue these days.

Lol. My religion is better than yours, so what are you going to do about that? :fury:
