Hilarious Lego Airline satire video

I understand the desire 100%. A nice car is...eh, nice. Occasionally we'll stumble in to a newish Beemer or something as a crewcar and I begin to think "oh, right, ok, I get it". Then I learn what it's "worth" and laugh in a barking fashion. Besides, the ultimate point of a "nice car", near as I can tell, is either to impress people (I'll need more help than a car) or go really, really fast. That's why I have motorcycles. Sorted.
Oh, ya that Porsche is fast huh? Well I just bought this 2 wheeled thing off a dumb 19 year old for 2 grand and it says that Porsche is mind numbing slow.

Politics, Money, Religion. These are the third rails* of any conversation.

* People often ask how many volts are in the rail. It's not really the volts that gets you, but the amps. How many amps, you ask? Well, enough to push a train, so obviously quite a bit.
That's a shame at least in two of the three items: it should be comfortable and permissible to talk about them and entertain someone else's viewpoints without necessarily accepting or adopting them.

Incidentally: In these parts, it's 1000 VDC.

I used to think that about my bikes and Subaru . . . you should drive a Porsche (911 being the one, and only, option of course). It's just different.

For the money, it better be "different."

The new R1 looks like a serious beast, and it's well under 20k.

Well, this is one area I do fall solidly into the "buy used" group think, but yeah, it's a pretty awesome amount of different. The R1 is bad though, are they still doing a Raven version?

I've driven a 996. It's an amazing vehicle, and yes, obviously, it's different from riding a bike. That said, my daytona 675 will still thrash it around any track that isn't an autocross, is more fun to operate, costs a WHOLE lot less, and doesn't have an intermediate shaft bearing that poops the bed every so often without significant warning, thus rendering the vehicle an extremely expensive (and pretty) lawn ornament. *shrug*

It looks like they're offering red, blue, and black as per the site. Your 16,490 bucks gets you 200 horses and some serious Grand-Prix level wizardry. I'm as big of an Aprilia and RSV4 fanboy as there is, but dang. This thing looks as good or better from top to bottom.

Eh. You would think. But we all know that's not the case.

I was flying with one guy who just wouldn't take no for an answer, so I simply let on that I was a Socialist Druid who celebrated both Arbor Day and Hilary's birthday, and gave most of my money away to help fund holistic animal wellness centers to move critters away from high-density gun ownership states.

He popped about a dozen 50 amp circuit breakers. An amusing spectacle to say the least.

Mess with the bull, you get the horns.

Ive had the luck to drive a 996 and 991 and have owned a 997 (all Turbos). I completely agree they are expensive, they are impractical, and a bike that costs the same as an oil change can embarrass them.....but...they have a very very special place in my heart. I have moved on to other German cars but I keep tossing around buying another Turbo. Its just hard to explain.

Now if only Americans had 6 weeks of vacation and the autobahn.

A friend once said "I drive a Turbo because I can't afford a 172..."

The 996 is a bike. A beautiful Italian bike.

I have never once been excited inside a 172. It's the Chevy Cavalier of airplanes. It'll get you there, but it's extremely meh in every way.
