Harrison Ford emergency landing (Crash) in SMO

He was a very good pilot, very safety minded. I had met him earlier during a EAA event where everyone was avoiding sitting next to him during the briefing.

During the AOPA shoot that I worked on that he was 'starring' in he called off the in the air portion of the shoot because of an equipment malfunction. I was very lucky to have been able to spend the day with him shooting the breeze about aviation.

Glad to see that he is going to be ok and that his training kicked in when he lost his engine.

My belief that being a good stick could keep you from being killed in an airplane died with Scott Crossfield. Hoping for the best - he's a great ambassador for aviation :(

the first report of critical apparently (no surprise) was wrong, fire chief just stated he's in moderate condition. Seems like some head lacerations

Briefing in progress. Assistant LAFD chief is punting on the flying portion (good man); FAA and NTSB to follow.

Boy the circus is in town today.

Good political stumping territory right now for the SMCC hack. "Yeah let's close the airport"

"WELL THAT DIDN'T TAKE VERY LONG"

Glad to hear he is ok.

Good thing the golf course is there, its pretty much the only option when departing rwy 21.

The big downside now is that the city has another reason to try and close the airport :(
