But if I rolled up to your house and threw all volumes of "Flying the Line" through your front window because I thought you should read them...I don't think it would have the desired effect.

As a professional I would expect folks to read the books. If they refused to, I would start questioning what motives they had.

My point was less about the books but rather the delivery method. I meant youd be standing around a broken window instead of saying "sweet, I should read this!"

I've gotten angry at people on the internet and said insulting things that had to be edited by moderators, the net effect on the person I was mad at is zero. Fighting on the internet is a waste of energy and not what Doug built this place for.

My career has been pooped on frequently. You get used to it after a while.

The latest is all the regional pilots bailing from decent paying regionals with solid work rules in search of a quick upgrade.

I'm watching my seniority list decrease both above and below me as people take voluntary pay cuts. I think that is short sighted, hurts the entire industry, and causes me to lose sleep at night because I don't know if my company is going to be around long enough for me to escape in an upward direction.

I absolutely hate what is going on, but I can see the other perspective. And I'd fully expect to get a beat down by mod if I were to berate someone personally for their decisions.

It's not hard to see why a guy that spent his career at a middle eastern carrier may be sensitive to this kind of discussion. I don't agree with him, but I certainly see his perspective.
