Don't Snap Roll A Hawker

Of the over 70 types in my logbook, I have aileron rolled most of them, completely around, 360 degrees. To aerobatic types, a roll goes all the way around....

This is the same guy thats always complaining about AMF being a horrible company. I don't think I would trust anything that comes out of your mouth anymore.

Aren't you going to work for a regional? And you just said this on the internet?

Wow. Some people really ARE that stupid.

Do not roll non-aerobatic airplanes.

I have too many dead friends that did ridiculous crap in airplanes.
Hell I have dead friends who were just trying to go from a to b. One wandered into a thunderstorm while center was trying to dig up his IFR and the other one cfit in a plane equipped with taws, moving map GPS, and synthetic vision.

The reward of successfully accomplishing a barrel roll in a non-aerobatic aircraft: a smile and a "remember when" story. The risk of getting caught: your career, certificate action, and quite a bit of future potential earnings. It's completely not worth it.

You should see what it does to an Air Force career when the right person decides they don't like it being done, even when plainly not violating any rules....

I wish there was an A & W around here. I think the closest one is in Fillmore and I don't even know if it's still open.
@knot4u
I have several A&W mugs that we keep in the freezer and buy it in bottles at the store to drink or to make floats with, but there are still a few of them around not too far, that we hit on occasion like in Torrance (it's comboed with a KFC), Carson (that's a stand alone A&W), and La Habra. There's still the big one out in Cabazon too and Mentone and a few others but they are even further out. There's one down by San Clemente too. Most of the ones in Cali are up North.

Thanks for the lesson. Let me guess, your introduction to spins was in a 172 for your CFI, and that is the only aerobatic maneuver you have ever done. Am I correct? You have demonstrated a lack of knowledge and understanding. I would like you to explain to me since you know, what forces act on an airplane that would make it anything other than benign during a constant G roll? Who ever said I did anything to risk my career?

@hook_dupin was a WSO with me in the F-15E, we flew in combat together in Afghanistan, and following that combat tour he went to USAF Test Pilot School.

Soooooooooo, no.

(I honestly hope this never gets old, even if we are :))

BigBlue has a bad habit of things like this, especially when it comes to singling out someone, while others in the same area bail like rats overboard.

Ugh what??!!

I haven't been at AMF for years there slugger... Get your facts strait. And no I am not at a regional. Did they not teach you to pay attention at ERAU?

yep.

Not only that dumbass that did snap rolls in a trainer airplane, but I know a guy that rented a arrow from the flight school I worked at and he brought two ladies with him. He decided to show off and buzz a lake, but he didn't know there were guy wires around so he ended up cutting everyone in half. Orphaned 8 kids in the process.

If young wannabee Hoover pilots want to go act up in airplanes I do not care and will not care if they plow themselves into the ground as long as they keep it to themselves.

@Inverted you say " why wouldn't I roll a plane, duh". I'll be the first to tell you that you are not that good of a pilot. None of us are. You will eventually die. Sorry, but that is the cold hard truth.

I have been flying for a while now (14 years) and with experience comes humility. I have my tailwheel endorsement from years ago but you couldn't pay me to go do landing in a citabria because I know I would ball it up.

I am just saying as cold as I can @Inverted stop while you are alive. Because when you go ball up a plane and die I am sure a lot of your friends and family will be "oh, he was such a good, responsible pilot!", but me and all the other aviators will be "meh, what a waste of a good airframe"

Thats the truth.
