Right, so if most of the charter people you fly with for example are 121's then it would seem like the 121 stigma does not really apply and hence thats the better route.
Moreover then piston freight time would be pretty much 0 in your opinion?

Someone should really write a book on this stuff as to how to get from point a to b the quickest.

These guys weren't CRJ first officers from 2 years ago. These are commuter guys from back in the day that made the switch to charter years ago. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it certainly isn't the route anyone consciously takes. It is the herder avenue to go from 121 to charter in my opinion.

God, I love that quote.

And when the TU-95 and A400M do .7something at FL400.... what exactly is the difference aside from a considerably lower fuel burn and shorter takeoff and landing distance?
A P180 is the same speed as the slowtations. The AC695 will beat all of the 500 series on any longer distance routes.

It's hard to concentrate on flying sometimes...

It proves that FO's get all the chicks. CA's have too much paperwork to do.

the heck did I get an alert to this thread for...? What were we talking about??

(Also, line guys get chicks! [and goats...and dogs...and cats...mostly live tropical fish though])

Flying up that river "VFR" when it would be 100% safer to go above the clouds and come in the other way. Maybe it's not like that every day. Either way, I wasn't impressed at all with the reckless nature of that base in general when I was there. That was 2 years ago and it sounds like most of that crap is done.
Never heard of it being done when it wasn't VFR.

The SAAB 2000 is another fast turboprop. 368kts at 25,000ft.

I haven't either but Tom isn't a fan of 1 and clear in g.
That's the main thing. In a small Cessna, in the plains, maybe. In the mountains, in 99, not that cool.

Reckless was a harsh word. SLC has/had more of a *we are carrying organs to a dieing patient* vibe to it though. Not a fan... :)
