Light Twin First Officer

Instead of talking smack here, I hope you all have the spine to send an email to that company telling them exactly where they can find your application. Stand up. Have some self respect and call out BS like this when you see it. Otherwise you ARE complicit.
Good luck changing Tom Cooper, bud...

However I'm not sending a letter to the company and I'm not complicit!

Companies like this aren't going to change their practices based upon a letter writing campaign. They'll adjust it the moment they can't put butts in ground school seats.

Not a moment sooner.

Like I saw too many people talk smack about GoJets only to disappear after being hired there. A few year go by an they're asking about employment opportunities at majors.

Okay they might not change it, but I definitely want it on their dark and evil mind when they sleep at night.

Also, why are pilots so spineless that they wont outright SHUN and call out other pilots who work for peanuts??

Everyone is so concerned about "burning bridges" but do you really want to be on a bridge that some dweeb built for $12 an hour? I sure don't. Hell I would go so far as to question their judgement in the cockpit if they think its perfectly okay to do a professional career for $12 an hour.

SHUNNNNNN them. Call out the BS. Call out slimy scumbags who will work for crap pay.

Or is everyone too much of a scaredy cat? (hint: I know the answer)

50,000 isn't really out of line for starting out as a PA31 CA. Better than amflight pays for the same aircraft I'm fairly sure. Be even better if they axed the dead weight that is an FO in a Navajo and gave the captain his pay too.

Totally agree. Two pilots in a Navajo is silly.

They're businessmen.

They don't care.

Educate your fellow pilots about why you think it's a rotten idea, you'll get through to some, others will think "Oh man, you're just jealous/a hater" or some developmentally-challenged crap like that.

Educate and step back. You can't reach everyone! :)

I wonder if the FO is logging dual or if none of the autopilots work. Also, doing the math, it looks like the company gets paid the EAS plus the $15,000 from the FO.

• The cost of all materials and check rides are included in the overall program
-- First Officer Program Price is $ 17,000. - After receiving $ 1,700 in flight pay the cost is actually $ 15,300 - That means you pay approximately $ 76 per hour - The cost of our advanced air crew professional training program is less than the cost of 200 hours of time building in a single piston aircraft.

• Program Prices do not include room and board and the required uniforms.

50k for a PA31 CA starting out is awesome. That is almost double what AMF is... In fact I bet the PA31 payscale doesn't even come close to reaching 50, ever.

This mindset is exactly the problem.

50k is not "awesome".

You're flying an airplane zooming through the air and if you have a bad day, you kill people. Period.

My girlfriend makes 60k to sit at a desk, drink hard liquor, and send emails.

You all have devalued the profession to absolutely absurd levels.

1500 hours and a Bachelors Degree and you pay for all training and transportation. And, you get to share a room with somebody else. Oh, and no pay during training. Am I so removed from things that this appeals to anybody?
Half of that meets XJT training, just saying....

That is fantastic. I would LOVE to hear how you have not devalued our profession. Where does your expertise lay that allows you to judge whether 50k is low or high for the given job? Flying for American you start at 38k, are those pilots devaluing the profession to an absolutely absurd level?

BTW is your girlfriend a phone sex operator?
