That being said, there's flow actively in the works supposedly, and it was the other company's idea... Given the position that other company sits in and what they can hire, I'll believe it when I see it. :)

I would LOVE to see that. The second highest paid 121 pilot group, where you have 8,000 hour CA's at other majors including the top 3, buzzing to go there, yet the 1900 driver with the oil stained pilot shirt gets a flow through... It will happen when the well dries up.

Union 121 Carrier > Non-Union Charter Operator

Aim higher man... Sure, the worst 121 carrier on U.S. soil to work for, is better than the AK job you have, but you need to look at other 121 operators, union or not, to see how good or bad the others are. I have a friend at Spirit and 2 at Allegiant, and nobody is happy there right now.

Anyone know anything about their new Chieftain SIC program that actually pays and upgrades you at 1200TT? I have a friend who has 1140TT and applied, well qualified and had an internal recc and it's been 2 weeks with not a word now. The same guy applied for a EMB120 FO position at about 600 hours and was immediately responded to saying they weren't hiring but please apply for a PIC position when available. I'm surprised that if they are desperate enough to run this program that he wouldn't at least get a reply of some sort.

Don't have a degree (yet) and don't know anyone at the Majors (tm), can't afford a regional...Golden handcuffs

I think they are looking for guys with less time than that for the SIC program, honestly. I know a guy that got hired as a captain with less time than that, they just had him train longer to get to the TT requirement. Keep calling and don't let up until you talk to someone.

I used to work there but it's been quite a while so not sure on procedures for this stuff, but you say he should cold call? Who should he be looking to get in touch with, SH?

I remember when I first thought about applying, people saying, you would have to spend years to get a turbine spot on the west coast. Boy how things sure have changed.

Those PDX bids....if a Chieftain guy in PDX bid for a 99 in PDX but has lower seniority than someone who's qualified in a 99, just at a different base, who would get it?

In theory, for it to go to open bid, everyone in PDX has passed on it. I don't know if that is the case or not, but that's how it should be. So, the guy in base should get it before anyone from outside the base can even bid it.

So in theory those two PDX bids are fair game for the rest of us?

Edit: BL said no one in PDX wanted it. Hopefully my seniority is enough lol.
