Hard not to be when you hear management talk about how we have "options on the first CRJ freighters"

Well, AMF has never purchased a new aircraft, EVER. So that right there should tell you that the latest and greatest coming to AMF would be unprecedented. Second they need a 121 cert (which is the most realistic thing that would happen of the rumors) because they can just buy it. Third, who's flying do they plan on taking over to justify filling a CRJ full of boxes?

Oh I know. They make it sound like there is nobody out there flying a cargo CRJ either. The way it was said, is, we have the options on the first CRJ's for cargo. I didn't want to point out there are some flying in Europe already.

Secondly, AFAIK, scope would never allow for AMF to fly a CRJ for either UPS or FedEx domestically, and I doubt DHL either.

Ya I just don't see the flying there. There is very little turbine freight flying that the big boys don't do. Smaller jets, Falcon 20 etc is one thing, but a CRJ? I don't think so.

It's not like any of it is rocket surgery, but the IT guys at Amflight at the time were absolute idiots, so it would be no surprise to me that they never took the 30 seconds necessary to figure out how to modify the servers.
They still are idiots. It would sometimes take a month or more to be able to get the chance to watch the videos for our CBTs.

Anyone know the possibility of doing a base transfer. I.E OMA- SLC while staying in current equipment? New hires are going into into SLC, so I couldn't imagine it would be a issue to "trade" me into SLC, while a new hire into OMA.

Thoughts?

Have you filled out a bid?
Several people have transferred to SLC

"I need SLC or I may have to quit" is something they probably wont like the hear since they need pilots bad. In the past the squeeky wheel concept has worked.
