I always love the sonar 'ping' in movies. Having listened to it for 4 years on a ship, that is the farthest from the truth.The lamest part is that a ULB doesn't even make a "pinging" sound. It's an ultrasonic pulse and if anything, it sounds more like a dull electronic clicking sound.
