Malaysia Airlines 777 missing

Can anyone explain the cellphone thing? I find that weird...I've only known dead/destroyed cell phones to go to voicemail thus far.

Crazy how far off the debris field is..

Cell phone....? I know there are some who said the called the phones and they rang then hung up......

If I turn my phone off (no signal to towers) and call it, it will ring and go to v-mail. That is not un-ordinary at all. Desperate people are likely grabbing at any inkling oh hope; regardless of how non-sensical it may be.....

I don't think it has anything to do with the accident, I just think it's odd. I've never had anything other than going straight to voicemail when I call my dead phone.

OK, it's someone else's turn - I was in the barrel last night on another nonsensical Interwebs posting. Tonight's is at BusinessWeek.com which I found on aggregator Digg.com. The headline question is "Why Do Airlines Keep (FDRs/CVRs) Trapped On Planes?" with the subhead "This Makes No Sense."

I abused a blogger so bad last night that he closed comments and the post is gone. Go forth and do good.

Maybe Google should get some recent satellite shots up of the search areas and post it up. Cant hurt to have an extra few million eyes looking.

If this was related to terrorism, do you think it could have been stopped if the TSA provides security at every commercial airport in the world?

If it had anything to do with the bunk passports, perhaps. We are one of the few countries that use that data base. Id like to think they would use that system globally. Then again, we are talking about the TSA here so who the hell knows. We have to keep in mind that both the shoe bomber and underwear bomber were somehow able to board their airplanes at their international departure points.

Love the media! Why would Iran want to isolate it's veto power!! On a side note check this out
