whats the shifts like for a assistant dispatcher? whats the pay scale?6-2 and 2-10 and 10-6. There are also some 3am and 4am starts along with the noon starts. Assistant Dispatch works 7-5. There are also some 9/10 hour shifts in the mix. The s-UA side works different hours so who knows what the future will hold.

Let me ask a question of different nature, how's the work atmosphere? I'm currently at a regional and coming from the business aviation side I love the fact we can dress down once in a while and atmosphere at the SOC is pretty loose most of the time. What's it like after the merger, when you have two airlines (technically) run out of the same SOC?
Is there any time frame as to when they will start calling/emailing people for interviews? Are they group interviews or one on one interviews? The dress code is quite casual (jeans and polo shirts are the norm) and everyone gets along pretty well between the two groups. Everyone would like to have a unified contract but that will happen eventually.

I would imagine it will happen pretty much as soon as the job posting is pulled from the website. When I hear for sure I will put it up on here.
Over 700 applications received! Good luck everyone.
They won't. Their taleo resume software rule out a good percentage of resumes right off the bat.Wow, hats off to the HR department that has to read 700 applications to define a short list.

700 applications for 11 jobs oh my....
So what you are saying is I have a (1.7%) chance!
I did this the last time UA had an opening and I also had internal recs and never got a call. So when I put in for AA recently, I did cut and paste the resume in the plain text part, but also attached a second copy at the end. Most job hunting books recommend you do this, and I think you should to, because if you don't and Taleo is doing a key word search, even though you may have those qualifications, if they are buried in an attached word document, they wont be found by the software and you may not get called.Hmm. Is that dependent on whether or not we submitted a "plain text" resume? I hope not b/c I only submitted my resume and cover letter as an attachment!
