Airline App wants to include Taxes last 10 years

Yeah I guess its more of just the underlying principle. Its kind of like saying get taken advantage of now, so that later will be better...oh wait, crap!, I choose the wrong profession.

Airline Apps is free. You can apply to all the airlines and it won't cost you a dime. However, storing your application on their servers and applying to several airlines using the same application is not.

Yep. Exactly my point

What principle is it that you have a problem with? The fact that somebody created an app that makes it easier to apply somewhere? Now they want to be paid for their hard work, but you still have the option to do it for free. I just can't find anything wrong with that. *shrug*

This problem I have is that I'm "forced" to pay. I can't just individually apply for each airline. The airlines won't allow me to apply outside of airline apps.

The funny part is that if I had the "option" to use this service or not, I would actually pay for it. It's just the principle. The principle of not letting other take advantage of me. A value a lot of pilot are so apt to push aside.

It's just another flaming hoop to jump through... If you want the job bad enough, or you're up to the task of working for a specific airline that requires you fill out an airline app on that site then it shouldn't be a problem...

The only issue is that since AA.com is accommodating all these individual airlines, the application is massive. That's a lot of info to repeatedly enter in. Much more than just applying to each individual airline separately. Or at least that's what I've experience (excluding great mistakes airlines, that was a nightmare)

That would never happen if you were applying directly. Far as I know the airline who don't use AA, just keep all your info on file forever.

Pre regional pilots shouldn't have to pay for this. This should be a free. I'm sure a charity would cover the costs. It's kind of like driving the homeless around to collect cans, only to ask for a cut at the end.

Hey look bro, fellow airline pilots created it. Quit complaining, they're benefiting from all of us paying them. Plus I'm sure they charge a small fee to the companies that USE them.

Nah, I'm not commenting on whether or not it's ethical, I'm simply stating that if you guys have beefs with the system, I can get you feedback on it.

The concept has been around for decades. I dropped $100 to apply for American in 1997, another $??? for UPAS (long gone) and it blew.

If the company you want to work for uses the system, and not all airlines do, it's what they'd like you to do for their own reasons. Those reasons? I have no idea, but I can pass on your concerns with the system.

I'm not saying its good or bad as I have the luxury of not having to be in the position of being on the job market, but I can drop some SMS's if you guys would like me to.

As someone stated above, this has nothing to do with airlineapps (which, imho, is just, you know "provoydin a sewyvice!"). Now, with that said, the notion that a potential employer can requir...er I mean "request" documents which by right ought to be between you, your gummint, and your personal God seems extremely unpleasant to me, but that's ultimately a political question. May I suggest joining and being active in the EFF or ACLU?

Jesus. You're getting soft.

From warlord to the ACLU? Can I get you a bottle of Ensure?

No, I'm incorporated. Just ask me, I was employed. W-2 to prove it.

I had a hell of a boss, although he is a bit of an ass (you can totally say ass on here).

8)

Then you shouldn't have to show them. I was hired there at the becoming of the year, and didn't have to.

Ok you got me by about 8 months.

Yeah but the important part is that we're a Team. You stand tall on that impressive and uh rather exposed lectern and pound out the party line. And I uh "advise" you from the sin-bunker. Or, you know, whoev...I mean YOU. Advise YOU, El Commandante! Here, have another medal. ;)
