SFO did have a runway 29 a few years ago.Build runway 29-11 out in the middle of it.

As you can see in this diagram demonstrating Asiana's visual approach procedures, taxiway Charlie abeam 28R has faded runway markings. In 05 or 06, the taxiway doubled as runway 29(don't think there was a 11) and was used largely by Brasilias and GA turboprops in VMC to help with arrival spacing. I don't remember ever seeing a tripple approach, but sometimes a guy would be on final for 29 with 2 planes for the 28s close in tail behind. I guess SFO didn't get what they wanted from it and the runway returned to its taxiway duties, though the touchdown markers and some other markings stuck around for years.
