Sheppard Air

There's no possible way to get an 89% on purpose. I just happened to get an 89% and got the refund that they advertise if you don't get a 90%. What's the problem with taking up an offer on something they promote and encourage you to do?

You can't backpedal on what you said. Poor regional FO or not, that was lame.

On topic, has anybody heard more info about the ipad app? I looked on sheppard's website a few minutes ago and didn't see anything. I am currently studying for all 3 of my CFI test and I think that having the app on iPad would make it much more convenient to study. I just feel like I can study much more comfortably and efficiently using my ipad instead of sitting at the desk in front of the computer.

They are talking about the 28th of January now, at least that's what they told me yesterday. In October they told me no later than the end of November so take it for what it's worth.

Supposedly they have one bug left to deal with, I confirmed with them that anyone who purchases the software can move to the IOS version at no cost. If you are a current subscriber, they suggest you watch the News section of their web site as mentioned earlier. When the announcement is made you simply e-mail them that you'd like to make the switch and they will e-mail you directions on how to accomplish that.

Well darn, I was wanting to have the test done by Jan 8th. Guess I am just gonna have to keep studying on the computer!

Apple moves at the speed of Apple. Also if you get the wrong reviewer on the wrong day they can reject it for almost any nit picky thing.

Last time I studied using Sheppard Air I got an 80% after a little more than 3 hours of study time, which in my opinion is pretty darn good for that little amount of time studying. I don't see any right in requesting a refund from a small business if you know you didn't put in the necessary time to study for the test. Sure, if you studied your a** off 2 weeks for the test, but why rip off a company that provides such good results for the majority of the industry taking the FAA tests just because you didn't put in adequate time to prepare for the test. Just my .02 cents.

I know off topic, just my opinion on what was said earlier. I've used them several other times and have had great results.

I'm a low paid regional FO and I wouldn't stoop to this level of dbaggery, and I'm a pretty big dbag. Ask anyone!

If you can't afford the material on your salary, get something cheaper. Nobody here feels sorry for you because you accepted a low paying job. Flaunting that you took something good, purposely scored low so you could screw a company out of a policy they have set with good intentions is just sad.

You embarrass me....

:yeahthat:

I mean, I don't mean to gang up on this guy but I got an 88% but I didn't run straight to Shep for my refund. I figured they're a good company, with good people who are selling a great product. It was my fault that I got an 88%, not theirs. And I'm a regional FO to boot.

+1 to Sheppard Air. Got the IPAD ATP program last week, just took it today and got a 99 in 20 minutes. Now it's time to memory dump it all. Can't recommend this company enough. A handful of new questions came out yesterday they updated their software in time for today's test.

Congrats! You use it for comm as well?

Thank you! It was my first time using Sheppard, I used ASA and GLEIM for every other test. I half expected to show up and have completely different questions, but thankfully even the 1 day old questions were on the software.

Buying it today! Ipad version, will advise!
I bought the iPad version a few months ago and studied for about 10 hours, got a 92%. Didn't take much effort at all, just end up memorizing the answers and the cheat-sheet they give you.

Just started studying the other night and have my written scheduled for thursday. Ive studied a total of about 5 hours so far and plan on another 5 before my test. I feel like I could pass it right now and I still have 2 sections to go over.

Damn. I feeling dumb. I studied about 26 hours over 3 days. Then took the test and got a 95 with Sheppard Air last week. How you all doing it in 10 hours? Wow.

Anyway. I memorized the cross country planning graphs, operational condition chart, and weight balance charts along with several other sections of the memory aids. I then went through each section twice. Then took 3 practice tests. That took 3 days and 26 hours for me. On day 4 I did the actual test.

Good program. Gets the job done. Problem is, I didn't learn anything. I used the iPad version.

Since I didn't learn anything, I invested in Dauntless ATP test prep for the iPad since Sheppard Air is now expired. I am going through that to learn certain sections and to understand them so I can have a good chance of passing the interviews I have set up for next month. I like the Dauntless Prep program for learning, but Sheppard Air definitely is the way to go just to get the test done and over with.

2 weeks and a 96 more me. I think we probably just obsess about doing well. I'm guessing 10 hours or 10 weeks, I probably would have made the same score.

Studied about 5 days, 94% last week. I didn't use the memory aids, I just worked out all the math problems, and I got those questions correct, including flight plans. The error I made was during studying, I only ran through the questions with the "show only the correct answer" three times. I never ran through it with all answers showing, so on a few simple questions, I selected the wrong answer because they looked familiar. I.e. SDF/LDA 3-6/6-12/aligned with runway.

Been studying about one day a week for the past three weeks. Looks like I might be taking to much time. I still haven't even scheduled my test yet. Not planning on taking it until July regardless.
