Sheppard Air

Was researching sheppard and decided to email them about iPad compatability. Got this response in just a few hours...

"Our programs are not web based because that is too limiting to our subscribers who often travel and don't always have an internet connection. We should release our iPad app to Apple tomorrow or the next day. Keep watching the news section of the home page on our web site. When it is available on the App Store, we'll announce it there and tell you how to find it. In the mean time, you can begin studying on any Windows PC or any Mac, and then move to iPad when it's available.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mike Stauffer,
Sheppard Air, Inc."

That seems like good news to me. Hopefully we see an approved app shortly and can study on the go.

Maybe not wait....I asked if there was a discount for iPad if you already had the PC version. Got this back.

Your study subscription isn't tied to the type of computer you're using. So don't wait to get started. Start studying now, and when the iPad app is available, we'll just move your subscription over to it.

We're still planning to release the iPad app to Apple this week. So keep watching our home page in the news section... we'll announce it there when you can download it fromt the App Store.

Taking the FOI tomorrow so we'll see how I do using Sheppard for the first time. I keep scoring 90% on the practice tests since for some reason I keep mixing up chronic and acute fatigue. Ah well I still have some time to go over it tonight to see if I can get it up to 100%.

So how many questions does Sheppard's FOI bank have in it now?

Just took my FOI and got a 90. I didn't see a single question I hadn't seen before. Didn't study too much and missed ones I had been missing a bit before (kept mixing up answers for some strange reason). Oh well Shep air did it's job and now it's one less test I have to deal with and now I won't have to deal with a grumpy fed wondering why I had a low FOI written score.

Well when you're a married, regional FO you sort of need to do what you need to do to survive.

I understand - it sucks. Lots of people (not just regional FO's) are poor though, are you saying that's carte blanche to act unethically?

Not that there's anything ok with it, but regional FO's will get out of poverty wages in a relatively short amount of time. Most everyone else will not. I'm also confused as to the bragging about it publicly after the fact. I guess I just don't like your mentality about the whole thing - you're stealing from a small business.

There's no possible way to get an 89% on purpose. I just happened to get an 89% and got the refund that they advertise if you don't get a 90%. What's the problem with taking up an offer on something they promote and encourage you to do?

Works pretty good. I purposely got an 89% so I got my 75 bucks back, it was awesome!

Bragging about something like this only serves to make you look like a tool. And then quickly changing your answer so as not to appear so "toolish" only makes it worse. I don't know what's more astounding to me, the fact that you switched up your story so fast or the fact that you just left it all of there for everyone to see. You did what my dad would call, "hanging yourself with the rope you brought to the rodeo".

I'm a low paid regional FO and I wouldn't stoop to this level of dbaggery, and I'm a pretty big dbag. Ask anyone!

If you can't afford the material on your salary, get something cheaper. Nobody here feels sorry for you because you accepted a low paying job. Flaunting that you took something good, purposely scored low so you could screw a company out of a policy they have set with good intentions is just sad.

You embarrass me....
