Republic to fly for American

Meh...who needs facts? The NMB was the side that has halted negotiations.
That was not meant to be a stab at the union at all. It's just going to be funny, when management says "you guys strike and all the American flying goes away!" And the pilots say (myself included) we don't care we want to get paid more!

How will this effect the bases as Republic? Will they remain the same or will others open or possibly close. What do you think the future of CMH will hold?
Where do you think new hires will be going?

I can tell you that among the Eagle ranks, what hurts the most is whoring out the Eagle name. Did it with Skywest and ExpressJet.

We knew going in that management was going to give out flying. It just hurts when it comes true. I really doubt we furlough and they are still in full blown hiring mode. With flow to American and the smart ones getting out from under AMR's umbrella, they are just attempting to push their staffing problems on another airline. Time will tell, but I think this is just stuff we can't staff.

With that said, Eagle will continue to have staffing problems when they publicly feed their loyal employees crap sandwiches and let every other airline know what their fleet plan is, but won't tell it's own employees. Feel the love?

Are these planes already in the Republic fleet? If so where are they pulling the aircraft from?

I think they will all be new to the RAH fleet.

"Republic also signed an agreement with Embraer to purchase 47 new aircraft and lease a previously owned Embraer E175 jet aircraft, including the first deliveries of Embraer’s enhanced fuel performance aircraft. In addition, the Company will acquire five previously owned E175s from a third party.
The aircraft, which will seat 76 passengers in a two-class cabin, are expected to be phased into operation at approximately two to three aircraft per month beginning in mid-2013 through the first quarter of 2015. Each aircraft will operate under the CPA for 12 years from its in-service date, extending the term of the agreement into 2027.
Republic’s contract with Embraer also includes an option with delivery positions exercisable beginning in 2015, for the purchase of an additional 47 aircraft."

Embraer does build a few regional airplanes; most of them sold these days, though, are not regional airliners.

(off soapbox)

It would be unprofessional of me to detail some of the stuff I hear when I do interviews, but SJS is alive and well.

I think the guys on the top floor never bothered to ask the guys in the 4th floor where we are going to get pilots to staff these planes.
I have asked this before, but how is RAH doing attracting new hires?

Also, are these growth airplanes or is this requiring an exchange of so many 50 seaters parked for each 175?

Sad to see so much growth at the regionals, not mainline :'(

175's...that's what managment is using as a recruiting tool....as for parking, I believe a handfull of 135's, 140's will be parked over the course of 1-2 years, but it will be a large net gain in aircraft.

$5000 taxed bonus and SJS.
Our hands are tied trying to get quality people with less than 1300-1500 hours and multi time.

On the other hand, they have scheduled another Negotiation for Mid-Feb.

Too bad they'll threaten with losing the flying if "we don't get in line"...thats fine...just give us a decent contract...

I'm gonna make up some T-shirts for HR:

Come fly for RAH..
you don't have cancellation pay...
but hey look at these shiny 175's!

How many 135s lol...

The 140s are supposedly good for another 17 months.
