SkyWest Hiring FOs

I just spoke with a friend of mine who got offered a Brasilia class in March. He interviewed two weeks ago, and I'm not sure of the exact dates. I'm sure with class dates this far out, it's quite possible guys will get another offer elsewhere and take it, and not wait. So I'm willing to bet there will be openings later on down the road for earlier classes. If you get the opportunity for an earlier class, take it! We usually get emails from the training department, saying when future class dates are. The last one we got was through December, so I'm sure they are still organizing 2012 classes.

Anyone here know of January or February classes?

This... the other guy in my interview already told me he decided to go somewhere else. He didn't want to wait until May. I think for the people waiting we will see our class date moved forward.

I know of a guy that is doing the same with his upcoming EMB class. Anyone know how long it is taking to hear back after an interview right now?

Well,In this case I stay 135.why should I be paid 1300$ when I can make 3000$.
Something wrong with asking for decent money?

Not anyone can live with little money.i got friends who wait for jet job with 1000h and now fly corporate jet.all he flew was a 172.
I got turbine because I wanted turbine, later I got jet because I asked for it.
It has nothing to do with attitude but goal in life, debt, personal experience,age,...

[h=1]Cpt. Ivan Drago....that you?[/h]

Just out of curiousity if hired does skywest make you resign your seniority number if furloughed from another airline?

I got offered a class date but it's far away also. Anyone know an email or phone number to get some answers I emailed Lori but she responded in a round about way.

Um first of all, your posts are telling me "it's your way or the highway" and "I always get what I want"... Your attitude seems piss poor (Your not an aviation GOD, your competing with other skilled applicants too you know.)

Second of all I agree with you about "goal in life, debt, and personal experience"; however, being a pilot has nothing to do with age. Some pilots are skilled, others are not (age has nothing to do with it). Again, fix your attitude before applying to the airlines.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered before, but I'm looking at going to the PHX job fair next month. What all do they go over at these things? Do they send you somewhere for a sim if you get past that part before the final decision is made? I guess the process is a little unclear to me. I remember a few years ago you knew before you left if you were in or not....

This sounds like a hoax.

Check your PM's.

A few questions for those who are at SkyWest now.

What are the chances on holding MSP right out of training or even a jet for that matter? It's nothing against the bro, but I'm from the east and I'd rather not move to the West. How long from interview to class date and how many more is SkyWest looking to hire this/next year? How long can one expect to sit reserve on the jet and do you guys have commuter clause of anything like that? Thanks for the insight!

Aren't you at a regional now?

Is the ATP written required to get an interview? I've been updating my app constantly and haven't heard a peep. Curious if it's because I don't have that box checked. Thanks.

I did not hear from them for over 9 Months after posting on Airlineapps.com. The day after I took the ATP written (mid october) I changed it online and I got an email for more info and a possible interview the next day. I should of got it done sooner. I would have preferred move to the east cost for my current job.

My buddy was a may '11 hire and he held a line right off the bat in the RJ in MSP.

From what he told me he had the choice to go Bro or RJ. My other buddy was an August 11 hire and he chose the RJ. If he had chosen the Bro he would of had a better senority number but he chose to wait for a later class date to get the RJ. He now sits reserve in Colorado Springs.

Good luck!

I had pretty much the same experience, except I haven't yet received a call for an interview. A few pages back, it was stated that SkyWest had slowed down their hiring, and people were getting class dates in March-May. Are there any current updates to that information?
