SkyWest Hiring FOs

For those of you who have submitted applications, how long did it take for them to get back to you (besides the "we've received your app" email)?

Submitted my application back in May of this year and recieved an invite to interview early October. When did you apply?

Geez... 5 months out. Makes me think about throwing in an app over at Eagle to see if I can get an interview, although for QOL reasons the west coast is where I'd like to stay.

The tune is changing.... seems backups in the training department were the reason for the delays but they're scheduling folks monthly until April from what I'm hearing now. G'luck!

i will apply with them, only for jet.
i got 2000h 500multi,300 jet. My goal is go captain then out of USA and be expat .

Most folks will say, "take the first job you can". I say nonsense. Granted, my timing at OO hasn't been perfect, I'm darn glad I waited for it to come together for me.

im new to this forum, but am in the same boat as many other people here. i interviewed oct 26th and have been given a tentative start date april 23rd. i am really excited about it, but it is a really long way off especially as the company i was instructing for has just gone bankrupt. I have another interview coming up for colgan, but i always wanted to go to skywest, and was over the moon when they said i had been offered the position. However, right now being out of work I need to take whatever comes up. I emailed camielle about dates etc, and she said they were doing a lot of upgrade classes, and were only taking on 10 new hires a month.
I really want to stick it out and wait for skywest, but am nervous in case the company takes a turn and decides to stop hiring.

I just spoke with a friend of mine who got offered a Brasilia class in March. He interviewed two weeks ago, and I'm not sure of the exact dates. I'm sure with class dates this far out, it's quite possible guys will get another offer elsewhere and take it, and not wait. So I'm willing to bet there will be openings later on down the road for earlier classes. If you get the opportunity for an earlier class, take it! We usually get emails from the training department, saying when future class dates are. The last one we got was through December, so I'm sure they are still organizing 2012 classes.

Anyone here know of January or February classes?

Word on the SAPA forum is that there are transition and upgrade classes every month, starting in January. Supposedly the transition classes are going to be pretty big... Hopefully we get an email soon, as it's all just speculation at this point (at least as far as I'm concerned!).

Dude....I'm not trying to be rude but, a BIG ARSE TURBOPROP is considered a jet. It has turbine engines and burns JET A. Same frequency now? Good luck with telling them you want jet only on your application. *rolleyes*

Aren't you in Europe with JAA or ICAO ratings....2000... 300 jet? You have all the experience you need. You meet most JAA airlines minimums 10 times over. You still on the same frequency?

I see SJS all over your post 5 times. There ya go...I just pointed out the problem for you in bold. Cheers mate!

Yeah... You won't get on here, there's now way. They will detect your attitude and you'll be out on your ass before lunch.

Oh, and I used to be a captain on a jjjjjjet! I gladly took the first available class, which was the Brasilia. I'm glad I did, it's a great plane.

Make sure your resume and cover letter are as good as this. :)

Well,In this case I stay 135.why should I be paid 1300$ when I can make 3000$.
Something wrong with asking for decent money?

Not anyone can live with little money.i got friends who wait for jet job with 1000h and now fly corporate jet.all he flew was a 172.
I got turbine because I wanted turbine, later I got jet because I asked for it.
It has nothing to do with attitude but goal in life, debt, personal experience,age,...
