Atlantic Southeast Airlines/ExpressJet

Congrats, Ruffp! Welcome to Jet Careers. Dale Cordova said we should hear something from our interview this week, and suggested we call back on Friday if we had not heard anything yet. I wonder if I should wait 'til next week--don't want to appear to be impatient (even if I am!). :)

Got an interview on July 11th. Mostly worried about the sim evaluation. Is the 737 glass or old school? What kind of profile?

Good luck and congrats with the interview! What are your times? I had 3 internal recs and haven't heard anything.

It's an old school 737-200 full motion with the motion turned off. The instructor goes over the profile in detail prior to getting in. Make sure to copy down power settings, etc that you need so you don't forget. It's something along the lines of climb to 5000', level off, climbing turn to 8000'. Maintain 250 kts to a VOR, slow for a hold and tell the instructor how you'd enter it. I didn't have to fly it. You then get a vector for an ILS and fly it down to landing. Landing isn't graded from what I hear. The instructor told me I passed and I got a call a week and a half later with the offer for the July 11th class.

It seemed that the main thing the evaluator looks for in the sim eval is trends and how quickly you catch and correct deviations. Don't stress about being within +/-50 ft, etc, just don't deviate and stay there. I did the sim April 1st and have since completed training and have 20 hours in the ERJ. It's a lot of fun and good luck at the interview!

I just read over this and the current ASA hiring status is classes announced as they pretty much start them. The last class was a class of 8 on May 31st that all went to DTW.

Also, I got hired into the ASA side with 510TT, 230ME, and internal recs.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get through the review board? I got an email on Tuesday that my app is in front of the review board just wondering what other people have experienced as wait times. thanks.

I got the "review board" email as well. I'm assuming if the Aug 8th and 22nd classes are not full yet then we should hear something soon.

Hi,

I agreed with you. Any way, your points of view make me thinking about some thing for my project.

Pls try to keep posting. Tks and best regards

still no word. Interviewed a week ago......anybody else hear about the Aug class?

I interviewed the beginning of the month. I called one of the pilot recruiter after about a week and half and he said no news is good news and that the review board is backed up right now. Day after i got the email that I am waiting on the review board. I figure i will give it another week and call just to keep my name fresh. A fellow JC member told me that the July 25th class is still trying to be filled.

Any news on if ASA is still hiring, i put in my app on 7/14/11, received an email stating that
"We are currently interviewing for new class dates to be announced. The new hire classes will be specific to each airline until we are able to acquire one certificate approval from the FAA. This should occur by the end of 2011." So does that mean I have to wait till next year to see if get an interview??

Thanks
