SkyWest Hiring FOs

Hey everyone, sorry for joining the party late but I have a quick question...Does anyone know how junior/senior the DEN or COS bases are?? Just curious, thank you

At the training center yesterday I ran into one of the CAs that did my interview. He was there for more interviews, and said they were told they need 60/month for the foreseeable future. With the exception of Mondays, I've seen interviewees at the training center every single day for the past two weeks.

The gouge that's online is old, but is still pretty accurate. Relax and just be yourself for the interview process... The training here is absolutely top notch, and is FAR beyond what I was expecting. It literally is like drinking out of a firehose though, and the amount of stuff that you need to memorize just seems impossible sometimes. But so far so good...

One quick PSA: I saw an interviewee yesterday in a sharp suit, but wearing a backpack. Not sure if that's acceptable now, but it looked weird. Probably don't want to do that if you're showing up for an interview...

Good luck to everyone! It certainly sounds like you're needed at Skywest this year.

i interviewed in march and had a backpack :( but its cool I...start on monday.

Well maybe that's the thing to do these days!

Congrats! I saw them getting a bunch of stuff ready in the rooms for you guys today. Looks like it's going to be a big class!

I called them today to confirm that my paperwork was good. They said they looked at it April 21st. I applied March 22nd. Good news is that they said they're going to call next week to schedule an interview.

Does anyone know if they are only taking internal recs and guys with previous 121, 135 experience? Any CFI's getting called for an interview? I applied in the beginning of March and haven't heard anything.

They're hiring guys with all kinds of backgrounds... Flight instruction, 121, 135, corporate, aerial survey, etc. One common theme for everyone I've talked to has been internal recs. I'm sure there are some that got a call without one, but I haven't talked to anybody yet that did.

I dont know what Im doing wrong, I have previous 121 and 135, above their mins and an Internal rec and I still havent got a call. Not to mention I applied way back in November. Anyone know what I maybe doing wrong? Anyone know the number to someone I could contact there that I might be able to see where I stand with them. Thanks

Similar situation here. I got the phone interview but there was some concern that I had been fired from a previous job even though it was A, not a flying job, and B, I encouraged them to contact that employer since I was more or less fired on a "technicality" (and no, I'm not trying to run away from any responsibility in the matter). The lady I spoke to whose name escapes me at the moment said it shouldn't be a problem and that they take internal recs (which I had) with high regard. Never heard back.

Oh well, mixed blessing I suppose. I'm starting ground school for 135 freight in 2 weeks so I'll be making ~$10k more a year than a Skywest FO and I won't have to commute to a crash pad.

Thing that pisses me off though is all the taboo. Like people saying "Don't call them back! Never call them back or you'll be black listed!" It's such BS.

I know this has been asked before but I am in need of a current interview gouge could anyone point me in the right direction? Some of the info I have is a few years old:(

Ok just looked at all 7 pages and didn't see this question. I meet the mins as far as total and multi time is concerned. What bothers me is the line about the 100 instrument and only taking 20 simulator. I've got the 100 hours but I also have about 40 hours of FTD and sim time. Anyone have any input on that? It says or used to say that recent experience would be considered in parenthesis next to that requirement as if that would effect their "strictness" on that requirement...Any thoughts?

You either meet the mins, or you don't... just sayin.

SKW ain't the Holy Grail of regionals either. Other regionals will take you below mins.....

Just sayin...

Obviously. The question has to do with the semi vague amendment of "recency flight experience would be considered" line for that requirement. What does that line mean...just saying...

My understanding: As long as you meet the 100 hours of instrument time you meet the mins. (Actual or hood, plus no more than 40 "logable SIM) You might break them down if the online app allows. I have never looked at it so I dont know.

Having 78 hours IFR total, much of it very recent will not "bend" the 100 hour minimum to something less.

Ohh. . . .. . Just sayin.
