Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Didn't you have a job at FSA? Don't they get you multi time there?

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

I don't have the money for it or I would. And until my DUIs 5 years old they probly won't touch me anyways. I'm considering just waiting it out at work till some multi- slots open, but I just feel like I should do more than just wait around.

You are missing out man. No place has touched you yet because you don't meet their mins. Find a way to get the money. Even great lakes mins are 50 multi. The DUI is not a deal ender for many places, I know people that have at least gotten interviews with fresh DUIs. Yours is 4 years old, don't worry about it. Sounds like you're not even giving yourself a chance.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Hmm...

Very cool. I'd be so excited to have an interview with these guys.

Good luck!

Yeah, I turned it down. I was hoping that I would get into a management position by and some multi-time by Jan but since I went and talked to my boss about it after being hired at FSA I haven't heard anything more, and that was the second time. The thing is I would stay where I am at for a while, my girlfriend and I plan on being here for 4 years while she goes to nursing school, I'm just not going to do it building solely single engine VFR piston day time. I probably will go to another flight school soon though if something doesn't change at work.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

You try TransPac? It seems like half of the new guys are coming from FSA, or thereabouts. You would be 100 multi hours richer in 6 mos, guaranteed.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Don't they make you fly SIC in the Caravan and make you toss bags and sell tickets? Seems to me like dodging planes in the traffic pattern is better than being a baggage handler who sometimes gets to fly and log worthless SIC time.

Yeah, this is also the same company that "painted" de-ice boots on several of their aircraft. Painted the leading edges black so they appear to have boots on them. Yikes, no thanks.....

Not a myth. Saw it with my own two eyes.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

This is an awesome thread. This repeat offender comes on to say he's again pursuing his life of aviation crime and ya'll end up wishing him well and trying to help land him a job. Wait...did I say awesome? I mean, the world must've tilted off it's axis.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Not so fast. There are several voices of reason in this thread. Hopefully the OP will carefully consider this and then run as fast as he can in the opposite direction of Pacific Wings.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Someone offered to walk his resume into a 135 company in the other thread.... guess that wasn't good enough?

I've found that oftentimes, being dumb is its own reward. This does not prevent me from wishing someone well. It's, you know, duality or something.

I didn't see that thread until after I posted it. Besides he didn't know about my DUI and that changes things. I know a lot of people think this is a bad decision, and I am weighing it heavily. I just want to do something to further my career. The flight time I am getting is useless now that I have 2200 hours of it. (single engine piston day). I can't afford multi-time, so that's not going to happen. Sometimes people take risks and do great things. While I by no means claim to be the best pilot, I do know that I study this stuff everyday, part 121, part 135, IFR, to be ready for that interview and training. I guess I kind of feel that I can take anything PW can dish out and if it comes down they fire me for some reason, i.e. WX, I'll document it and explain it as best I can. Southwest isn't going to blame me for not flying through severe icing in a Caravan with painted boots.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Why not find a flight school that will allow you to teach multi?

It's so easy to say, yet so hard to do. The schools that teach multi either have a back log of instrutors waiting in the whims, or the maintenance is so horrible that you take your life into their hands everytime you fly, or they pay a wage so low, you can't even survive if you eat ramen and hotdogs every night.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

I was able to build over 150 hrs of multi (most of which was turbine) just from people I met while working the line. There are other options. Im not here to dissuade you from going anywhere, I for one dont have the experience nor the knowledge of PW to tell you what to do, but the general consensus is that it will end up hurting more than helping. Maybe try to find a line job for the weekends Youd be surprised the amount of people willing to help you out.

Hehe, bretthullrampage knows about that. I still remember getting the phone call from when he passed his multi-check ride after having a real single engine approach.

If i knew where 79N was, I'd kick it.

This was :sarcasm: as well...

I certainly hope he flops and that not one person in here is honestly wishing him good luck.

They sold it right before they closed the doors. Look it up on flightaware, it has a spiffy new paint job!
