After 3400 accident and incident free hours, I have no idea what I'm doing. Get used to it. In aviation, the more you scratch the surface, the more surface area you create. I still don't know a damn thing about flying, it scares me too.

One simple phrase sums up how I've managed to get by up to this point:

"Act as if..."

Basically, watch how the old crusty captains do it and mimic them. Actually, that was a great piece of advice given to me by one of those old crusty captains. Nobody's caught on to my ruse yet.
