Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

The same Pacific Wings interview you turned down about a month ago because you didn't want to work there?

Why the change of heart? I mean, your original thread is still on page 1 of the General Topics section........and you were pretty hell bent on not going there........

Am confused.
It's simple really. I have 2300 hours of single engine piston, and only 20 of multi, a DUI that's 4 years old, and I'm sick of dodging other aircraft in the PHX practice area, and I've been working at a flight school for almost 3 yeaars that has given me 0 multi. Other than the DUI and 20 hours of multi I have a good resume (military enlisted, management experience) and no one is calling me. I need to do something to build my resume and here's an opportunity to get turbine, even if it is Caravan. I just feel I have to take the risk.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Time is a relative thing. One suspects that hours will become days will become months will become years slaving away for that bunch of hysterical clowns. My guess is you'll stop posting, but if you don't, I look forward to a Sitrep in, say, August.

I, for one, solemnly swear not to be in any way sympathetic.

Hmmm...well I guess it's good that I don't give a if you're sympathetic or not.

Well, I hope you find what you're looking for with them, if the descriptions of the place are accurate.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

That's like saying "other than the dead hookers under the bed, I'm really a nice guy!"

Heck, even then, I used to work with a guy with two DUIs on his record at a much more respectable company.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

As Doug likes to say...Horse, Water...why don't he drink?!

Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy watching the crash...sure you feel alittle dirty, but hey, you've done all you can do!

In that case I'm sure there are plenty of pilots with dead hookers under their beds, they just haven't been caught. Get off the high horse.:pirate:

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

I do in all earnestness wish you the best. I suspect and fear a uh "different" outcome. But if you have a great time over there and get your 1000TPIC and get hired at Southwest before me, I'll still let you buy the beers cause you're Senior. :D

Hell a buddy of mine has two and is flying for the Air force. But as I said, nobody is calling, and since at my current employer I can get nothing but single engine VFR day piston, I mean not even night time, I have to take matters in my own hands.

I appreciate that, but let me assure everyone that I in no way think that I will get hired at Southwest after 1000 hours of caravan time

Hey, no need to justify it. The decision is yours. Simply wishing you luck. :)

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

A DUI is one thing, but a DUI with a firing on your PRIA (or succumbing to flying when you shouldn't and the issues that could exponentially damage your career) may be much worse. Just sayin'

I don't understand, I would have bought the multi time long ago. What are you waiting for?

With that kind of experience, you're missing out on all the regionals who will undoubtedly call you back as soon as you get the 100 hours of multi........

Your right. I've been reading through some older posts about these guys. I just don't see how a place can stay inbusiness so long if they are constantly firing people. I highly doubt I'll take the job if offered. But I'm at least going to interview and feel em out. At the very least it will be some practice interviewing. I definitely am not signing a traing contract that I have to pay if I get let go.

Don't they make you fly SIC in the Caravan and make you toss bags and sell tickets? Seems to me like dodging planes in the traffic pattern is better than being a baggage handler who sometimes gets to fly and log worthless SIC time.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

I don't understand. Then go buy multi time so you have a chance at all the regionals hiring....

With that kind of experience, you'll be getting multiple calls.

I don't have the money for it or I would. And until my DUIs 5 years old they probly won't touch me anyways. I'm considering just waiting it out at work till some multi- slots open, but I just feel like I should do more than just wait around.

I'm only 40 hours short of my night IFR part 135 requirements. They said I can just fly VFR PIC in the Caravan until I get the 40 hours.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

One scary thing is that you are responsible for the training contract if you are fired.
