Hiring tracking (opposite of furlough tracking)

That's good news... at the very least it should empty their pool.

That's the word I'm hearing. 180-200 in the pool, two classes starting in Jan, hiring for Summer, but past that, who knows. I wouldn't be surprised to hear hiring off the street late next year, but I think it's gonna depend what shakes down with the merger.
 
Forgot to add this, but in October I got hired at Baron Aviation (FedEx Feeder.) At the same time we hired 2 other guys (1 for Grand Island, NE? and one for Columbus, GA). Some other FedEx feeders that are hiring are Mountain Air Cargo (SE and East coast) and Wiggins (north.) West Air may also be hiring, I don't know.

Wow... Thanks for sharing the good news! Seems like a near constant stream of it coming from AAWW for some time now. How long has it been since Polar hired?

2008 since Polar hired.

However, the seniority list is done, so everyone hired is going on the integrated seniority list by DOH. When the CBA is done, then the single list will take effect.
 
Update....

I was at the schoolhouse, and one of the management people came in for a (very) brief update.

Said that they will likely hire twice as many in '11 as they did this year (150).

Good luck, it's almost wide open again.
 
Emirates planning to hire 2000 pilots in the next 5 years. Yep, that's 400/year. Currently 8 new hires a week on the B777. Will it come to fruition? I don't know, but they keep surprising to the upside. I think airspace capacity is the biggest road block to expansion.

SLI / arbitration...:whatever: almost same word (or I could just blame it on his accent;)).

The seniority process also went through arbitration.
