9E/9L/XJ Tentative Agreement Reached 12/17/2010

The reason I ask is because currently its a 2hr credit for each reserve day. So a reserve guy starts at 40hrs of credit. Where is the incentive to work in that?

True, but if they just use you for an out and back each day, you still don't get more than you would if you sat at home and did nothing. Could also get interesting with the bucket system and the "throttling" that comes into play once you hit 70 hours of credit for the month. It basically makes it so the reserves get spread a bit more evenly rather than some guys getting beat to hell while others wonder if they still have a job.

The other beauty is when assigned an actual trip (as reserves are designed to do when there is a sick call or a crew has a fatigue call, extensive WX/MX delay) and get far and above the 4 hours will have days later in the month with the 4 hour min days that will put you over guarantee. The days of going into the last week of reserve at 70 hours of flying and being given RR and no credits going over guarantee go away.

That still happens with buckets and a reserve bypass number.

Anyone have the current seniority list for Mesaba and Pinnacle? I would like to take a peak and see where I would fall using different methods of integration.

I will be satisfied with the Saab pay if I fall in the right place on the SLI.

If you look at a 9E seniority list, you're gonna have to add about 3 months to each pilots DOH..

Pinnacle being the all knowing/seeing creation that it is - does/did DOH based on checkride passage, not the day you start class.. I've got an 07/07 DOH that I'm told will be moving back to an 04/07ish DOH..

Dang! 3 months to take a checkride? What did they do in ground read the AIM cover to cover?

This is not something you want to do. There is no reason to see where you would fall using different methods of integration because that method has yet to be decided by the Merger Committees and all it does is create speculation. Speculating a merger integration process only gives headaches and creates madness amongst the groups

It's for my own personal entertainment. Besides, the speculation, madness and headaches have already been floating around.

Well, my initial response to you is "This ain't no turboprop, son!" but I won't say that because every turboprop I've flown was harder to fly than the mighty ClimbRestrictedJet..

I don't think it took quite 3 months.. My DOH is 7/1/07.. I don't remember exactly when I started ground either.. Sometime in mid-April I think.. Maybe it's 2 months they're adding, I don't know..

All I was getting at is if you start looking at a 9E senority list and then try and compare it to a CJC seniority list, you're going to get skewed results as the 9E DOH's are going to be adjusted to match "common industry practices." Both 9L and XJ use class date as DOH..

FWIW.. You're going to have to decide yes or no prior to finding out where you'll be in the SLI.. We all will.. SLI won't happen until the agreement is voted in..

It is going to be interesting. ALPA SLI rules say a guy junior to you now, cannot jump you on a new list. I know for myself, I have junior guys to me upgrading soon. I don't know if it's the same for you ben.

Unless they plan on making some CAs super junior, I'm guessing my DOH at Colgan would have to fall middle of the pack on a new list. 07/2008.

FYI... Chuck sent out a message a few days ago, asking for more letters of rec. They plan to continue hiring.

I think Colgan is also seeing some good attrition. My number went from 375 to 369 within 2 months.

Part of it is the lack of instructors/sims. I got pushed through pretty quickly with little sit around time, and it took me from 3/6 till 5/12 to get done. Right now, guys are sitting for weeks due to a lack of instructors, sims or check airmen to do OE. Last one won't effect your hire date, though, just getting signed off.

It takes a while to do the plug and chug, and despite certain voices to the contrary, you can add a couple 3 months to everyone's seniority on the Pinnacle side and get a reasonable idea of where they lay. I played around with different methods, I'm screwed some ways and fine in others. It'll be interesting to see how the SLI goes. There's no way to tell how exactly how this stuff will go. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it, it's out of your hands.

If Uncle Phil would quit letting his son have pizza parties in the sims..........

I know how I'm voting. I was not expecting this new TA to have me running out to my local Infinity dealer. It gives the average CJC schmoe a better life in a VERY short time frame so I have made up my mind on it.

Regarding the seniority lists, I was not going to get scientific with it, really just the desire to satisfy my curiosity.

Yeh, I'm curious to see where I'll fall.. I know I'll be senior than a heap of CJC Captains.. Not planning on bidding to any CJC aircraft at this time though.. I want MEM or nothing..

No one junior to me upgrading. If that were the case I would be down in Memphis giving MH a talkin to having been bumped off the upgrade list.

That memo from Chuck had me scratching my head as well considering some Mesaba Saabs are being parked soon and guys still out on furlough.

Speaking of furlough, when we get one list don't those furloghed guys need to get a phone call before any new people get hired?
