9E/9L/XJ Tentative Agreement Reached 12/17/2010

Hopefully, a Utah based pilot group can learn a thing or two from the benefits of having a CBA and legally recognized representation.

Did you sign the petition?

Just to emphasize how important soft time is, $6500 of my pay is due to it.

Well. I am not sure what to make of the payscale... As of now it does not look like Mesaba plus. It actually looks worse than what Mesaba has now. And it looks like they are going to be using an A and B scale, current Mesaba 25-35 seat Turboprop FO's make more than a merged Colgan FO will make on the same aircraft. I do not agree with this at all...

The other stuff looks really good. Especially the scheduling section. The other larger aircraft payscales seem ok as well. I just dont agree with having an A and B scale for the SAABs.

Perhaps I am not understanding it though. If I am wrong someone please explain.

Nice to see some solid work rules in there. That payscale looks really good. This is a bit overwhelming for us at CJC LOL.

Looks right. I would have thought that after DOS+4 they would have evened them out, but even by 2015 at 10 years of service, 5 years after its all said and done, there are still going to be a Mesaba guy making more than an "old colgan" guy.

But dont let the hourly rates be your Yes or No vote. 4 hour min days (although Im not sure what to make of the min 25 guys in base stipulation) is nice! If you have a 31 day month, with 11 days off and your sitting reserve, youre already at 80 hours of credit.

By 2015 JB will be pulling in over $100K a year. Haha. Bet he never thought he would see that without having to interview again.

I guess the saab payrates arent that big of a deal. After a couple years you could jump to one of the larger aircraft and then its all even.

I would "assume" based off my quick WAG math, pay rate+ work rules for a 6 year Q guy is going to end up being close to 14%more take home... company paid Short term is great, and the family health plan is about 50% of what i think im paying right now . I don't like the "hybrid" lines though.

CDO's need to be CDO's and nothing else. this is all a quick glance.. when the real language comes out I will be interested to read it.. I prob. needs to be strong or I doubt the messaba guys will go for it

Are hybrid lines build up lines where they can slot in reserve days if they don't have anything in open time to build a complete build up line?

If so, we have those.

Hybrid lines are lines that are a combo of regular flying and CDO/highspeed/stand ups. At least, that's what they are in the new agreement. What you're describing is called a "build up line" over here. Right now, reserve guys can volunteer for a build up line, and it's a combo of trips that dropped out due to vacation or other planned events and reserve days. Looks like under the new agreement the only way to get a build-up line is to come back to flying from something like medical or military leave and not be eligible to bid for the month.

be careful how you read the min day. Currently at mesaba you dont get min day unless you are actually assigned a trip or ready reserve.
