Ron Paul introduces: American Traveler Dignity Act

No surprise here, but I too agree w/ Ron Paul. I understand that we need security, I get that. But...pat downs are not going to stop any serious bomber. It has been discussed extensively that if they are serious, then odds are, they will put it up the rear and good to go. The Al Quieda magazine "Inspire" just reported that the best way to win the "war" is by crippling the US economy. Smallers attacks, not repeats of 9/11. I see mall attacks, school attacks, the cargo bombing deal...we spend MORE money on "security" trying to win this "war". Anyway...good on you Ron!

On another note, as for private security, it's just as bad. We went to Kansas City this weekend (MCI) and they screeners there are privatized. They groped just as bad as the TSA (saw two...one an elderly priest in a wheel chair, the second a morbidly obese woman) and ON TOP OF THAT, insulted my wife at the checkpoint, so just because it's privatized doesn't mean it's better.

I'm about to fly out of town for Christmas and I'm really not wanting to with all this going on. Is anyone else opting out of the machines and saying no to the groping pat down? Will the TSA just tell you to leave the airport or will they try and file a lawsuit against you? I will refuse the machines and the aggressive pat down every time, this is absolute insanity.

Edit to add: I'd rather have my junk and my crack sniffed by a dog than be molested by a person. Plus, this give the reasonable suspicion for a proper search, thus circumventing the need to even debate the 4th amendment.

Better get a refund on you ticket then. You hvae to do one or the other if selected. Remember this is the new 'Murica. You know, the one that you give up some of your rights when you buy an airplane ticket, even though there is nothing written or agreed upon as such.

Won't work. Then we'll have to deal with, say a dauschund filing a lawsuit because it wasn't hired for a ramper job that a great dane was. Discrimination and all....
