No surprise here, but I too agree w/ Ron Paul. I understand that we need security, I get that. But...pat downs are not going to stop any serious bomber. It has been discussed extensively that if they are serious, then odds are, they will put it up the rear and good to go. The Al Quieda magazine "Inspire" just reported that the best way to win the "war" is by crippling the US economy. Smallers attacks, not repeats of 9/11. I see mall attacks, school attacks, the cargo bombing deal...we spend MORE money on "security" trying to win this "war". Anyway...good on you Ron!
On another note, as for private security, it's just as bad. We went to Kansas City this weekend (MCI) and they screeners there are privatized. They groped just as bad as the TSA (saw two...one an elderly priest in a wheel chair, the second a morbidly obese woman) and ON TOP OF THAT, insulted my wife at the checkpoint, so just because it's privatized doesn't mean it's better.
