Situation in Brazil

Is it very much like it is here also that if you know someone you'll get in? Because I know 3 captains over at TAM and that would make things a lot easier.

Knowing people in the airline seems to be the only way to make it in. At least that's what I've heard from friends in Brazil who are applying and from those who are already in the airlines.
 
80% of the Brazilian aviation is out of SP: Guarulhos, Congonhas, Campinas, Ribeirao Preto and Campo de Marte....unfortunately C :

Small regionals FO is 500TT
Second Officer is 200TT

Bigger companies like TAM and Gol FO is 1000-1500TT

Getting the license based on an FAA one, it`s long and painful but can be done....TRY TO READ THE REST OF THE THREAD

You can use all the hours in the US...



whats the difference between Fo and second officer ??
 
second office is basically the FE. it's used mostly on older planes that need 2 pilots and a flight engineer.

The second officer here is a FO in training, usually low time pilot, you just fly portion of the flight....
 
Interesting. Why would you need a SO in an EMB-190? How are they employed in the cockpit?

you fly portion of the flight, when you you have enough hours you start your FO training. It's just a way to put a 200/15ME hours pilot in the right seat...and make it work

Most of this cadet programs around the world use this system (Gulfair, CP, Ethiad,...)

Yeah, but those airlines you mentioned put SOs in their long-haul flights. How long are they making these Azul flights?:crazy:

Not complaining though. I guess it's good that they are not letting pilots with such low hours go straight to an FO seat. It's funny that the listing online ask for "co-pilotos". Are FOs and SOs both considered "co-pilotos" in Brazil? If not, how are they differentiated?
 
As far as getting my high school diploma translated can I get that done here or does it have to be done in brazil. If I could I wonder if I could send it to my uncke in brazil so he can do it for me. Does it have to be a special university or any university ?? thanks

No it has to be done by a Tradutor Publico Juramentado, really few of them that do American documents.

Call This guy: Ricardo Dimas, 21 2539 8617 his office is in Botafogo, tell him you are a friend of Alessandro (Alex) Huber

the price is fixed by the govt, 40 reais for each page (for an US Diploma is gonna be around 400 reais)

It`s gonna take him few days, best thing is to send him a scanned copy by e-mail, and when you go to pick it up you take there the original to get it stamped. After that you need to take it to a cartorio (with your ID and CPF) and get each page recognized.

Before you do all this your diploma has to be legalized at the Brazilian Consulate in the US (you can do this only in the US!).
When it gets to Brazil you have to take it to Fullbright Institude, They have an office at the PUC University in Gavea Rio to get your school recognized.

After all this you can do the translation and then take the document to the MEC (Ministero da Educacao).

My Process ad ANAC is over they gave me a license...but it`s valid for 90days, this because MEC never recognized my Diploma. I went to a private school and the Brazilian Consulate does not want to legalize the document, because the Diploma I got is from a different country then the one the school was in.....I need to figure out what to do now

MEC does not want to take the document without legalization, I tried to pay them off, nothing...I got kicked out by the security peoples...

Do you know what the situation is with TAM Swisspilot?

I heard they are hiring at 1000 hours with a college degree is that correct?
