TSA Recalls!!!!!!!

Yep, and to think that the biggest reason they were every able to give a competitive proposal to UAL is because they abuse us and have such cheap labor and this is how we are rewarded for providing that for them? Can't wait until it's time to strike.

As they say.. IT'S ON for the strike! They really have nothing else going for them. They can't say now that TSA doesn't have the money and it can't be competitive anymore. Not that that was fooling us to begin with but this UA deal confirms it.

...and everyone thought morale around here was low before...

they take it, lift it to the highest I've seen it around here in 3 years and then smash it. Damn.

So from what I hear, the reason they couldn't come to an agreement with UAL was because the flying was only guaranteed for 5 years, but the aircraft leases could only be found for 7 years so they were risking having some planes with leases due and no flying for 2 years. OK, seems reasonable to be cautious of that, but isn't this the same company that just put in a firm order for 50 MRJ's and 50 options and has no flying for them yet?? Such a clown show.

I've met some good guys working at TSA (as well as other carriers of course). But I cannot figure out for the life of me how this BS is put up with.

There were even rumors a week ago when that letter came out, that TSA management would send out recall letters even if they didn't have that flying secured......AND THEY WERE RIGHT?!

If you have some other gig going on that you like....I'd stick with it before heading back there.

It really doesn't have to be like this.

Word on the street is the frontrunner for the 50 seat flying is an IAH,EWR and CLE based regional that is bidding on the flying at a loss due to having capable aircraft sitting around collecting dust. I don't blame em. Better to lose a lil money operating the planes than having then sit and bleed lease money. Thats probably what the TSA management was afraid of.

Keyword I used was frontrunner. Its down to 2 finalists I hear. We all know who the 2 companies are.

Please enlighten us all on the terms of this cpa.Bases, number of frames and contract length and who got the contract. Oh, and by the way. From another forum, you claimed xjt was doing this flying at a loss. Please post the terms of the cpa. You also stated that xjt is paying the leases on the aircraft in the desert. Wrong. You also stated that xjt has 50 seaters in the desert collecting dust. Wrong again. So unless you can back up your satements with factual information please stop spewing this mindless BS on every forum on the internet.

Oh yeah, skywest inc. is the greatest company on earth.Period

While we're at it, feel free to reduce the amount of vitriol as well. Doug's living room, don't you know. :)

They were not recalls to begin with. TSA wanted to see who would come back and who would defer the recall. Once that happened they would do the actual recall based on the amount of flying they got.

Second, they did not order any MRJ's. They signed a letter of intent to order the planes.

TSH is very cautious. even at the expense of their pilots.

They got recall notices with class dates. That's a recall..

The letters are what they are, they are recall letters. The problem with that was they made it official and with actual class dates as well. I actually had to drive to the post office to get this holy certified letter. What they should have done was given us a heads up through the union about possible recalls through an email or something. To which I might say the union dropped the ball on this as well in being absolute silent. But to a bigger extent TSA dropped the ball in not keeping us informed and to unnecessarily keep things in the dark. As I understand it Xjet guys knew way more than we did and actually got word from theri ceo that they wer egetting the flying. And the actual contract itself is just unbeliveble that they would turn it down for lease terms 7 years from now. Bottom line it's just embarassing to be associated with this airline.

Not quite...The CEO has just basically stated that we're in negotiations (from the conf call).
There have been some communications that we are bidding on a RFP etc...that we'll know more info in the coming weeks etc.

There's been a lot of rumors stated as facts, but as Baronman said all xjt has told us so far is the part I bolded in his quote. The ceo said on the conference call 'we're working towards additional flying, its confidential and we're not going to talk about it'.

I still can't get over how crappy (I'd replace that with a swear, but rules are rules) the TSA guys have been treated through this, just to come away with nothing. It's one thing to lose a bid to another airline (that's life, w/e), but to see tsa furloughees get abused in the worst possible way is going to make any recall at the carrier who wins the rfp bitter-sweet.

although smokey said another forum, you'll find the trip7 quote in this very thread, so its a valid place to complain about it.

And honestly, going with the "doug's livingroom" analogy, if someone walks in an starts pissing on the carpet and another guy starts calling him out for doing it, who should you really be complaining about?

Trip7 cant keep his rumors straight, 2 weeks ago he was posting ASA had this flying and it was a done deal...

Trip7 said:
Look for Skywest INC, likely Skywest Airlines, to pick up this flying (My opinion only)

Trip7 said:
Official annoucement should be made within the next week. ASA will open a crewbase in IAD for 20 CRJ 200s. This is not growth flying, just prevention of further shrinkage. More details to come later.

Trip7 said:
Congrats TSA folks. 130+ recalls is alot of pilots. Must be something Mesa-UA termination or RFP related. I'm sure we'll here an announcement soon.
