TSA Recalls!!!!!!!

I had to remember that AND 50044 49823 43651 40564 46495 46275 41226 37698 46738 46517 41226 37698 44312 44092 40785 35274. Good ole Cheezytaco.

From what I understand, if you were out more than a year, you'd be going through a somewhat condensed version of initial new hire training followed by around 5 sim sessions and IOE. 48722, 48501, 42549, 39462...Heard them once recently and they're still stuck up in the noggin somewhere. It'll all come back.

RZ said if you completed the 100 hours of flight time before you were furloughed, the training will be condensed. Otherwise it's full.

More than a week now past the recall letters, more than 7 days now past our limit to respond to the recall, why am I not surprised with this company? The least they could do is update us.

RE: United RFP
We were notified today that we were unsuccessful in our effort to secure flying under the recent United Airlines
RFP. This disappointing outcome was despite providing United a low cost, highly competitive bid. The costs
required by United as well as some of the flexibility on the length of the agreement would have provided
substantial risk to Trans States. As I have said many times in the past, we are looking for opportunities to grow,
but only where such growth would be beneficial to the company. In this case, we could not agree to the terms
United required and realize sufficient levels of value to our company.
United did say that we offered a very competitive proposal which allowed us to be one of the final two out of
nine initial bidders for this RFP. They also indicated that our high quality service and our low costs , coupled with
the value we continue to bring to the partnership, make this a very difficult decision. They reconfirmed their
commitment to our partnership and the value we continue to bring them now and in the years to come, both on
our current flying as well as any future opportunities which may arise.
Unfortunately, this decision will result in us rescinding the recent furlough recall we initiated last week. We regret
that we will be unable to follow-through with our recalls at this time. Because of the delivery schedule required
by United and the notification requirements of our ALPA agreement, we had no choice but to send the recall
notices while still waiting for final word from United. If we could have waited until final word was given before
issuing the recalls, we would have. Unfortunately, timing did not allow that to be our course of action. We notified
ALPA leadership of our intent from the very beginning of the recall process and thank them for their cooperation
and understanding during this time. We sincerely apologize for any disruption this may have caused to our
furloughed pilots.
I know this is a major disappointment to many of our employees and again I am disappointed we were unable to
bring this process to a winning conclusion. Please rest assured we will continue to work towards finding ways to
profitably grow Trans States Airlines as well as return our furloughed pilots to work as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and I will keep you posted on further opportunities as they develop.

I don't think it's just TSA. Last year we went from hiring 300 pilots to furlough 200 within 2 weeks at Comair. So screwed up.

So, should we guess that Comair DID get the flying based on their recalls, or are they even able to bid on outside flying yet?

Oh no, Comair did not get the UAL flying. I doubt you will ever see Comair flying for anybody else besides DL. We are way too expensive to fly for anybody else. Out recalls are because of "projected increase in flying from DL".

As far as the UAL flying goes, the rumor is ExpressJet got it. At least that's what I've heard.

A really crappy thing for TSA's mgmt to do. I really hope no one quit their current jobs or handed in a notice based on that recall :(

Unfortunately I know there are people that did. I luckily held off until I'd heard something much more official.

Kind of makes you wonder who would quit their job based on a one paragraph letter that didn't say anything other than there might be recalls.

As far as TSA... To turn down a 5 year 50 seat contract when TSA is only going to shrink more and not to mention the market out there where 50 seaters are being sent to the desert. All because they might have to pay extra on the leases 7 years!!!!!!!!! from now.... If they have no intention of taking ANY risk, they should sell this company to the highest bidder, and put the pilots out of our misery. Honestly I have given TSA the benefit of the doubt but after this I really am ashamed to be working for these guys, quite possibly one of the most incompetent management out there.

Yep, and to think that the biggest reason they were every able to give a competitive proposal to UAL is because they abuse us and have such cheap labor and this is how we are rewarded for providing that for them? Can't wait until it's time to strike.

I notified my current company that I was hitting the road yesterday!!
In summary:
-yes that was stupid
-yes I regret it
-yes it is possibly irreconncilable
