TSA Recalls!!!!!!!

Dang.

Congrats.

ASA will be the last to recall I say, I call it winter of 2011.

Hahaha...atleast ASA wants to get more flying.

The wonderful people with the Alaska Air Group running the show for Horizon, we're probably not going to recall till 2012.

HOPEFULLY, I won't have to make decision to go back or not...if that time rolls around and the gf hasn't put "forums.jetcareers.com" into some sort of NetNanny and I decide to go back...I want someone to come to ATL and put me out of my misery, I'll supply the bullet and gun...
:guns:

Poof.

I don't see how our inefficient scheduling whizkids will be able to run two bases without having to call some back.

That said, if PBS passes, yeah, it'll be years before any of us 136 are back to work - at least for ASA.

Then again, some of my peers who are still employeed think I'm going to be back to work by April 2010. Something about some other flying coming up, but whatever. . .easy for them to say.

Either way, I think I have an idea where TSA is getting this increased need for pilots. . .but I'll keep my mouth shut. Don't want to get too depressed.

Congrats though, first PSA, then Eagle, now TSA. . .who is next on the recall train?

Perhaps it's time to start a recall tracking thread. Has the tide turned?

PSA?! Did I miss something here folks? I know they brought a few back but are there more recalls?!

Congrats guys! With the trend of recalls I hope more follow, a good buddy of mine just got furloughed from Comair, hope they get something going soon.

This is one guy that won't be going back. TSA sucks. My flight instructing job pays me better and treats me better than TSA ever did. All I did at TSA was fight to keep my job. They threaten you with termination from day one. What a crappy place to work.

I'll do it. Only a short drive.

PSA's recall train is a very slow moving one (think steam engine), compared to TSA which is a bullet train and Eagle's which is your standard Amtrak variant.

Well, I certainly don't blame you for WANTING to go, but you should crunch the numbers, and also look at where you are seniority wise at each place. If I don't see you around Lakes anymore, I'll hope you are in a better place. MEOW!

Congrats TSA folks. 130+ recalls is alot of pilots. Must be something Mesa-UA termination or RFP related. I'm sure we'll here an announcement soon.

Any idea how long the classes would be? A birdie told me the ground portion would be a week and 4 sim sessions.

Being out of the airplane for 14 months and only 2 weeks of training? Za?

The shorter the better, the objective is to stay as little as possible in St Louis!!!!. As long as they give us the memory items before as well as the limitations/flows it would be fine. I dusted off my ERJ stuff this weekend I couldn't believe how much of the stuff I remembered. As long as they give us 2 or 3 weeks time before class I think it would be fine.

If you're gone for over 12 months you have to go through requal C, which is entire course over again IFRC.

Believe it or not, this stuff comes back really FAST. Sounds like you will be fine with what the company has given you!

So any word yet on what these recalls are about? Strange to recall with no announcement was my first thought.

Along the lines of meyer's comments, do we need to maintain anything (besides a medical) during furlough? Can we just show up without an actual IPC or BFR, complete training and be legal?

I'm too lazy to type out the FAA's url. Is this full requal part of a reg? Knowing that as a certainty would help me for planning purposes. I'm pretty sure a recall for me is going to be happening within a few months or less.

From what I understand, if you were out more than a year, you'd be going through a somewhat condensed version of initial new hire training followed by around 5 sim sessions and IOE. 48722, 48501, 42549, 39462...Heard them once recently and they're still stuck up in the noggin somewhere. It'll all come back.
