EG&G aka "Janet"

Does Janet have their own TSA agents, or are they just randomly assigned on a given day?

I can imagine a host of security problems the aliens would present. Are the reinforced cockpit doors adequate against the melting power of the laser-vision of the aliens? Do the aliens have to take off their shoes (because it is common knowledge that aliens hate to take their shoes off)? Are there sky-marshalls on these flights and if so, do they have alien-wear so they can blend? Can aliens jump-seat? If they can jumpseat, and a non-union alien gets denied by someone like Velo or ATN, does the alien usually kill and eat them or do they simply try their luck on the next flight?

:laff: :laff: :laff:

Friend of mine and former "spook agency" rendition pilot was turned down for a Janet gig because he failed a spelling test in third grade. HR folks at EGG really know how to pick the fly crap outta the pepper!

I gotta say, Velo's really left a legacy. ;)

Oh snap! I pretty much failed the third grade entirely, I guess that would count me out.

Thanks for the info guys.

HA--I guess he has. I've received many PMs from JCers who were sorry to see him gone since they appreciated his experience AND candor. Imagine that! I'm sure he'll get a chuckle to know he was mentioned in a thread. :)

Like Doug has said many times, he couldn't control himself enough to abide by the rules of the website. Too bad, he did have a lot to offer, but not with all the side dishes that came along with it.

If people want to hear what he has to say, they can go to where ever he is now.

Whoah whoah whoah, let's not be revisionist here.

If a person willfully disregards the rules of the community, no matter if he's Jesus Christ wearing sandals, he's going to be summarily dismissed.

I gave your friend far more leeway that I'd give anyone else and he chose to disregard my numerous requests to calm the hell down.

If people are PM'ing you about "I've received many PMs from JCers who were sorry to see him gone since they appreciated his experience AND candor." they need to man up and talk to the webmaster.

That would be I.

And my PM box is wide open.

I'm not going to wreck an entire community pulling for common goals because one doesn't want to respect the rules of the website.

Boring work eh? I thought it seems pretty exciting flying places that most people can never go.

That would be exciting for about the first week.

Then, it would just be a standard short-haul 737 classic job.

By virtue of how military programs are classified and protected, you wouldn't be able to "see" anything at any of the places you went to. As was mentioned, it wouldn't really be any different than landing at any other big airport in the American southwest.

Yeah, I can't imagine it being very high on the "excitement" factor.

One of the things I liked best about flying was getting out and seeing places we went.

From a F/A standpoint, the flying would be really easy! The pax would probably be quite easy and the least problematic of any! :D

Yes. To add, there's a reason in all the satellite photos of some airfields, the ramps appear deserted / no activity...

In an explosive decompression, I wonder if the aliens need a mask or if they can breathe the air?

I'm thoroughly disappointed in your lack of knowledge about the aliens.

First off, they have gills. If that's not obvious enough, they also have taste buds on their feet...you should see them drink a soda.

Second, the morphophilian will just turn into a sheet and cover any said structural deficiencies. How else do you think they are able to fly millions of lightyears to stick a probe up a hillbilly booty?

Third, the planes just take off. W....er, the pilots, fly a heading until the alien tractor beam grabs the jet, pauses it in space. At which point the "passengers" are beamed off the jet.

Crap...I hope no one reads this or I lose my job!!

did you forget this is general topics? it's probably already been googled...hehe ;)

Probably the most exciting thing at JANET is that the -200s are being replaced by -600s.

The passengers are likely the ones that get to do/see the interesting stuff. Once they get to work, that is.

Agent Smith has spoken. This is his world! (just please don't try to clone us all, mmkay?) ;)

-600's still exist? I hardly hear of that type! It's like Boeing skipped that number and went straight to the NG's...

Saw a couple of them earlier this week while we were in Vegas.

A lot of airlines looked at the -600 like a -700 with limitations. Not a whole lot of airlines ordered it, just a handful airlines in Asia, Europe, and Africa. In fact, until Janet started replacing their -200s with -600s, a USAF ex-Lauda -600 based at Tinker AFB and it was the only US based -600.
