RAH E190 Rates

In the last round of hiring at my carrier....that's EXACTLY what I'm saying. See what Spira said, too. ASA told him to get an RJ course. PSA told me to get a CRJ type rating when they were hiring 600 hour guys outta ATP. Think you woulda gotten hired at ASA without that RJ course, Marcus? Maybe. But odds would have been a LOT slimmer. Don't agree with me, that's fine. Wouldn't be the first or last time. However, history doesn't lie. Hell, a whole school based their marketing and curriculum off sending guys here. Why would they hire guys with actual experience that might know a thing or two over the guys that would just be happy to be here?

BTW, Marcus never took an RJ course..........

ScreamingEmu got hired at ASA with very similar times to me with no RJ course I believe. Not 100% sure though...

My friend at RAH that Meyers keeps bringing up on a monthly basis, no RJ course

SmoothlanderJ? No RJ course

There are other ways besides RJ courses to prove to H.R. that you're an applicant that has a good head on their shoulders. Obviously those kinds of traits spur jealousy and envy from others. I refer to those type of people as Haters.

You guys are cracking me up...

Trust me. Most people are not envious of the guy who jumps right into an airline gig. I'd say that guy missed a huge gap in the "experience" that most of us struggle through but later (in our heads) wear as a badge of honor.

Personally, when people ask me about flying I usually jump back to my funny instructing stories or crazy 135 situations. Those are my fond memories. All my funny 121 stories come from overnights.

Instructed at Skymates right?

Or was it ATP?

2 months at ATP in Houston, 3 months at Skymates in Dallas.

What happen at ATP again? Many got hired without an RJ course. The point that I was trying to make orginally was this:

During my time at ATP there was a guy whom at the time I got to know from the Dallas location. We all would study and prepare for getting our CFI's. I came in from the outside. Much like you did Marcus. The person in which we seem to have a debate over was in my class at JAX. During which time I made multiple attempts to go help study with them and prepare for our initial CFI's. The other two guys, whom I still talk to, would also agree I would go out of my way to try to help study. All of us passed our initials the first time, of which I had to go first due to being a non ATP student for the career course. And thus gave feedback on the experience and what to study etc. During which time many of the gusy we would study with were speaking of companies such as GOjets, TSA and others to get hired at. I was an Indy boy at the time so I would tell them about RAH and how it was a growing company and would be a great opportunity for many. At the time was one of my top choice(s). Later someone took some stake in what I said and researched RAH and found out what I was talking about.

Later on the same person was in my "indoc" class for ATP Instructors. I made the trip down early when we started to pick him up from the airport to help save a $100 buck taxi ride. During which time we all would eat, hang out etc. Buddies in which you would think you could count on. From there he went to the Houston location, where he met up with Marcus and the guy who got me enrolled at ATP a manager I got along with great.

So we would keep in touch while they were in Houston and I was in DAB. Talk about students, instructing, building hours etc. One day I got a call from the guy, and told me he had an interview at RAH and knew a contact from his college frat (Jackson State I do believe, and an African American fraternity if I remember correct). I inquired as to how he got an interview at the time with less then 500 hours and if he could help me out with getting into contact with such a person. The response I got was appauling and thus the reason for most of my dislike that has come off towards RAH on these forums. He simply said, "I am worried about myself and he's my conact and you have to get your own." Hmmm I thought... Pay it forward? Help a friend out? Well needless to say I would continue to send applications in.. I was instructing in DAB with another guy who graduated from the University of Illionis... Had about 1800 hours and 90 ME. Did an internship with RAH and was doing sim evals for them for new hires... However his boss during his internship would tell him, "We cant bend the rules, no RJ course you need 100 ME." Of course once he got his 100 ME he got hired.....

Looking back things work out in an intersting way. I got interviews at ASA, AWAC, PSA and offered others as well. Hired at the three I figured why go for more. It was time to make a move and not hold out (advice many on here told me, including whom I considered a mentor in Denny J). So obviously I went with PSA since they were closer to Indy for me.

Now sure I was PISSED at the guy whom I thought was a friend for not even attempting to help me out. Here I helped out during CFI school, told him about RAH and how I thought it was a better option for him the TSA (whom he really wanted to work for at the time). I was annoyed that there was this attitude of, "Sorry about you, but I'm not helping." Fine thats ok, its your decision but it was just really annoying and upsetting at the TIME. Later we would still talk and what not when I went to PSA.... However I would constatly hear the stuff about Midwest. And how this same person thought all the Midwest furloughs should be placed below him etc... And it just set me off even more... Finally getting to a point where all my post on RAH were negative and it had nothing to do about the pilot group there but only ONE person....

Now sure you can call it jealously, you can call it envy, you can call it what you want. But at the end I looked at it at the TIME as a slap in my face... And it just pissed me off. However as I mentinoed its amazing how things work out for a reason. I was hired at PSA. I had a line last summer. I got furloughed, spent more time with my girlfriend and during that time knew she was the one for me. Got engaged during my time away, and now she's grdatued, we're getting married, she's gotten a job in Cincy and things are working out for a reason.... However the one thing that gets me is when someone is so far up someone elses rear they refuse to listen to another persons side of the story. Rather they have some sort of clique and the other person is wrong no matter what.... And that's fine, you can be that way. It just tells me I'm better off without... Again you can call it what you want... But what I've realized in these past few months from talking to the old friend and some RAH guys on here was one thing. I was projecting my dislike for one pilot of a group on the whole group. And that simply was not, and is not fair to those like Delia and Russ and others at RAH who truely are going to try their best to make things work and get the best contract they can for these planes.... So I just ask you, before you cast or make judgements about me, you actually hear the other side of the story as one famous radio voice would say... One more thing, before someone goes and tries to make it about race, remember what I did for nearly 6 years and continue to do today... I worked in the inner city with a population of 80% African American students, 19% Hispanic, and 1% other... This was a simple matter of at the time just being really annoyed at one person for their lack of compassion or desire to help another.... Which I just assumed was the thing you did in our industry, try to help another person acheieve their goals/desires...

I don't know, but I thought there was a LOA and the Republic guys and gals will be flying the 190 at regional rates. Wasn't that the original point of this thread?

No offense man, but if you don't have facts - don't post.

There has been no TA - there has been no vote - negotiations have stalled - arbitration for 100 seats is filed - integration of F9/Lynx/Midwest and the hawiian company I can't even spell are all on the negotiation table now.

This will not happen overnight. I wouldn't expect a votable TA until a year or two from now. There's no way RAH execs want to settle quickly.

But again, before people throw spears - where's PCL's contract?

Voted No by a majority of the pilot group.

If you go back to where I posted earlier you can read someone stated we, as a profession, need to hope that BB doesn't manage to get away with bringing regional wages to "mainline" aircraft and someone else stated they hoped RAH pilots would refuse any such offers. From the facts I've gathered I said that was too late because the current 190 rates. I know realistically if you refused to fly a 190 because of these rates you'd be shown the door, but aren't the rates already here???

I understand there's been no TA or vote, what I didn't or don't know for certain is the rates RAH FO's will be operating the 190. Are they what's been posted earlier in the thread? Are those mainline rates? I'm not trying to throw spears, just looking for facts.

Good lord, my ears are bleeding after three pages.

First of all, I have the biggest dong of 'em all, so stop trying to compare sizes because I've got you all beat.

With that said, let's all discuss the issue at hand.

You know as well as I do Doug, that this section of the forum has the most complaining, griping, bitching, personal attacking, and overall discontent; than any other forum section.

Definitely the "south of Shea" section of the site! :D

It's a regional fight, yay!

Just try to JS on one of my flights now......I'll deny you so quick that your ass will be stuck in Kingman, AZ forever! And I'll make sure to have a solid excuse.....like my Dash-8 with it's 5 pax on my waste-of-taxpayer-dollars EAS route, is overloaded. And if you EVEN try to sneak back past and non-rev on the remaining seats, I'll have you seized by the TSA!

Not only dance off, but let's have a flying skills-off........autopilot v autopilot!

We've got autothrottle and OMGZ, Cat-II! Cat-II can you believe it?

EAS is pure socialism until, of course, the government ends the route and I post mad on the internet! So is a major carrier paying for the gas for my regional! Wait... Erm... OH hell, UR OFF MY JUMPSEAT MIKED!

Oh yeah? Well I just found out that MY bottom-feeding regional upgrades FAR faster than yours! So the next time I see you, I'LL be wearing 4...count-em FOUR...stripes! AND I'll be moving up to $35 and hour on my CRJ905.

I may not have your fancy-ass Cat II......but while YOU are on still on Ramen, I'll get to afford a Chik-fil-A value meal in the EWR terminal TWO times a month now!

bee-yoch.
