Will United renew contract with Mesa?

Nope, UA will not renew.

And you have any sort of evidence to say so? I dont think it has as much to do with renew but more with will they keep them until the end of their contract. I thought, it was about the option to keep the Dash 8 flying in DEN and some CRJ200 flying as well. In that case I believe they will keep that flying and things will go on as status quo. I think you would have heard of another airline gaining flying by now if UAL was going to pull that flying.

This RFP that is currently out for MESA's current flying is akin to getting quotes on a new truck from dealerships to see if it's worth your money for a new vehicle. Many carriers will bid (including Mesa I'd imagine) so it will prob come down to money vs performance. Who knows- everyone wants flying, at another carriers (read- pilots) expense.

The fact that you have not heard a word. Mesa stock is doing fine (compared to where it was). There are many sources out there such as planebuzz in which leads the way with rumors. And if the date is tomorrow, there have been zero signs to say anything other wise.....

I don't know bout you but I've been hearing words. Mesa stock is doing fine, haha that's a REAL good indicator. And when was the last time planebuzz came out and said someone was getting flying until the official press release came out? This is business, not TMZ....

Exactly.... So nothing to back it up.... Rumors, rumors, rumors.... All of the rumors saying Mesa is losing the flying. And thus if we are relying on rumors, I'll keep my answer the same until something is published otherwise, Mesa is not losing any flying from UAL. A renewal of a contract is another story. Tomorrow's October 1st, and not one word has been spoken from any reliable source saying Mesa has lost that flying. And if they were going to lose that flying, I'm sure wallstreet has some insiders that would know about it and thus reflected more with a decline in stock. Which as of just checking a minute ago, is not the case. Stock is still around $.25 compared to other lows from last year.

The stock is already at $.25 what more decline do you need to see?:D

I think the drop to .25 was due to a lot of people falling for the rumors.
Seems to be bouncing back a bit now. Either way, tommorow is going to be very interesting. :insane:

Yea who knows what will happen. But put yourself in a CEO's shoes. They know all kinds of in depth things. Would you seriously commit a long term contract renewal to a company in the financial shape MESA is in? Delta most definitely has learned its lesson, and I believe United has also learned the "you get what you pay for message"

The above is only my opinion. We will find out at least by the end of Oct.

There's little chance this is a "long term contract", at least by historical standards. I would be stunned if the RFP was for more than 24 months.

With United's current situation, Mesa may stand a good chance of renewing their contract with United.

Exactly... And isnt tomorrow only the deadline UAL has to tell Mesa if they are LOSING flying??? Correct me if I am wrong, I thought the current bid for additional flying has no deadline.... Just that if UAL was to pull the flying from Mesa they had to give them 6 month notice, and thus tomorrow is the date....

Speaking of Mesa's stock price...

Whatever price you see already has Mesa's uncertain future with Yo-Nited built into it.

Don't think Mesa investors haven't seen this day coming for some time...It's not like last week they realized the UA flying is in jeopardy.

Now if tomorrow UA puts out some press release announcing a change (either good or bad) I think you could see some swing in the price. But for now I'm sure everyone is waiting to see what happens.

Looks like tommorow will be the big day.
Any thoughts on what may transpire?

United will ax the 200s and the Dash8s but will still keep the CRJ7s. I'm not exactly sure what an announcement will mean since it's only a notice but I believe Foley said they will file BK anyways. From what I've heard on the inside is that they are really low on cash and they barely make any money with the current UA and DAL contracts. By the way, CHQ is also losing their 50 seat flying to United in DEC.

I won't speculate about what will happen with UAL, though I do know that we are doing some of their Denver/Wyoming area turboprop flying starting October. GCC to DEN and DEN to RKS. I don't know any other details.

Whatever happens, I really doubt anyone will see or hear anything for quite some time. I wouldn't think UA would just come out tomorrow and flat out declare anything. I could be wrong, but we'll see.
