Because they're scabs. They're the pilots AmeriJet needs right now. Of course they'll be hired.

Once a scab, always a scab. Meaning, not only will you catch the wrath of a unified work group every chance provided, but you'll likely be called upon by management groups everywhere to break their respective union with your help.

Of course they'll find more work, it's what they do.

An effective strike is to never stop being a professional, the minute you start doing juvenile things, the strike stop being a work stoppage and starts looking like a bunch of people causing trouble.

Here's the problem. It's her psychobabble that is out there driving Bassett's refusal to come back to the table. It's her babble that these guys have to endure each year about what a great company it is, how they are the best, and how the customers love them. THAT'S the problem...Bassett, Huff and the HIG gang are buying into it and crapping on these guys.

Kind of like a crew scheduler who's told to tell a pilot, "you have to take the trip, you're the only one." Even though he knows is bull, eventually he begins to believe the brainwashing.

And therein lies the problem: Amerijets pilots forgot that they were supposed to buy into her brainwashing. So pointing her out as a fraud to the public is perfectly appropriate.

Go check out the website, look at the "CEO testimonial video" by Bassett and then come back here and say there's not a problem.

There was none attempted, but we walked the loads, not only checking locks, but for scab freight.

We all knew they are on strike.

Even half a world away, we are checking pallet tags.

We support the AMJ pilots 100%!

I see your point, but in my opinion, it's all about solidarity.

Do you know what was motivational during the lead up to the Skyway strike? Having the IBT and UAW with us, walking the picket line.

Did it do anything? Perhaps not, but it certainly helps psychologically.

The ALPA national strike chairman is one of my really good friends, I'll try to drag him onto the website to give his perspective. He's flying to PRG tonight so it might be a couple days.

No disagreements there, my only comment was from the point of view of the AirTran & not from the people walking the picket line.

Yes, it would be a great morale boost to see fellow pilots from different airlines walking the picket line with you.

As a company that is not being struck, bad for business and could send the wrong signal to the public......
 
However, the public needs to realize that we're part of a common struggle.

And yes, ain't we sharply dressed! :)
 
KALITTA CHARTERS II PILOTS TO CROSS AMERIJET PICKET LINE!!!!
A Kalitta Charters II B727 is to be launched out tonight (09-03-09). It will be flown by the Chief Pilot and two other scabs. The Chief Pilot at Kalitta Charters II is on the SCAB List (Eastern Airlines) and will have no problem performing this flight. In addition, Kalitta Charters II pilots have each been called by the Director of Operations asking them to cross the Amerijet picket line and fly Amerijet freight. These calls began yesterday morning. Be aware that Kalitta Charters II has 4 aircraft: N720CK, N722CK, N723CK, N724CK. All 4 of these Kalitta B727 have NO LAVATORIES and Doug Kalitta (Owner and President) has operated these aircraft in the same manner that Amerijet flies their aircraft. This is shameful because Kalitta Air is the B747 operation under the Kalitta name and is in support of the Amerijet pilots. Kalitta Air pilots should be outraged that Kalitta Charters II is part of this scab operation.

Kalitta Charters II is a non-union operation run by Doug Kalitta. It is not part of, or connected to the Kalitta 747 operation that IS part of Local 1224 of the IBT. To say their pilots and PFE's are outraged that these guys are operating as scabs and may cause them to be seen as complicit is an understatement.

Again...Kalitta Air...the 747 operation...is in full support, has not and will not scab. Please be understanding of them. If they need a jumpseat, they'll have a union card from either Local 747 (where they used to be) or Local 1224.
