Amerijet On Strike!

Though you can't wear your uniforms (which is understandable)

Actually, it's not really understandable. Every other pilot group doesn't have this restriction. Only our management is so strict about the uniform at picketing events. Oh well, at least we can show our support without wearing our AirTran wings.

I mean understandable that since its an MOU, you cant really break it. I agree, the reasons for the MOU itself kind of don't make sense especially if other pilot groups don't have the same restriction.

What's happened with uniform strictness (if anything) following the ATN pilot from a few months ago that.....IIRC......dropped his kids at a game, or something like that? Is he cleared?

Ahhh, gotcha.

We got him cleared as part of this MOU. His suspension was rescinded.

Uniform police or not, they'll love to see everyone. Hell, maybe everyone should wear big green garbage bags ...the one's that look like the pee sacks Bassett makes them use...

Despite the 11 scabs, not one Amerijet flight, with the exception of the management scabs who flew on Day 1, has moved. One ABX scab management flight and one CargoJet(Canada) flight have. One scab was trying to sneak out of the scabs only parking lot unnoticed. He did it so fast, that he backed into his two fellow crewmembers cars and dented them up pretty bad. Didn't stop to tell the cops or his buddies, but there are a lot of witnesses to someone committing a hit and run!!:rotfl:Typical scab...faithful even to their own.:yup:

The stock of HIG management, Amerijet's owner has been tanking since the strike began. Meetings on Capitol Hill are happening today, with hearings likely next week in front of the House Aviation Subcommittee.

Copied what's below from another site....

"You have no idea what your support means to those guys. Good on everyone who is supporting them. Picket lines are life changing events. We all walk away with a stronger bond with our fellow man.

Seems ol' David Bassett and his "life motivational" coach/wife, KandeeG (www.kandeeg.com) have decided to try and collapse these guys by hoping they will fold when no paychecks arrive tomorrow. As I think Tony and everyone who has been there will attest, that won't happen.

A PayPal account has been set up for anyone who can't get there, but would like to donate. Go to www.Teamsters-Local769.com and click on "donations." You can also send checks in care of Daisy Gonzalez-Business Agent. $5, $10 anything will help these guys.

For those who really are adventurous, look at KandeeG's website. It's better than a 3 AM infomercial on cable
lol.gif
Or her Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kandee...=wall&viewas=0 , and read her "info." We're talking one serious nutcase. But this is what the Amerijet guys have to sit and listen to every year in recurrent!!

If you'd like to ASK KandeeG how it is she talks one way and then helps her husband treat their employees like crap, you'll have your chance today from 3-4pm and every Monday and Thursday on "South FLorida's ONLY All Business Station" www.880thebiz.com

Maybe she can come up with some really good mumbo-jumbo on the air. Hopefully, picketers won't show up at the station, WZAB "The BIZ" located at:

Due to disagreement with a company, people are going to start harassing the guy's wife, that is not the classiest thing in the world to do. What's next, following their kids with picket signs....

An effective strike is to never stop being a professional, the minute you start doing juvenile things, the strike stop being a work stoppage and starts looking like a bunch of people causing trouble.

All it will take is one press release to say "stop harassing my wife" for public support to swing towards Amerijet, not with the pilot groups but with the general public & investors.

Me personally as somebody that supports pilots and has been in aviation for quite time and I am quite surprised that somebody wife is actually part of the strike conversation.

What the heck....AirTran has uniform police ? You think mgmt would have better things to do with their time.

If I was CEO of a company, I would not want my employees walking a picket line for another company while in company uniform, sends the wrong message.

Nothing wrong with pilots out of uniform with a "Support Amerijet" picket sign.

I kind of understand this...and if she were a physician, or some other kind of worker I would agree.

Problem with this woman is this: She DOES become involved in Amerijet (I think pilots and other EE's have to sit through her psycho-babble at company functions/training), and the other reason is the snake-oil she is selling. She sells "coaching" and crap like that - "be the best you can be", and all the other feel-good idiocy that makes vicious, climbing yuppies feel good about themselves after stabbing people in the back, ripping people off, and generally being an ass - it is like feel-good psychobabble. She tauts herself as a management/relationship/performance enhancement guru...yet her husband owns a company that communicates so poorly the pilots went on strike. Her husband values the "team experience" so much that he makes his crews urinate and defecate into Glad Bags. I believe she becomes a target because she claims to be a management guru, and yet one of her clients has had a massive relationship management fail and is on strike.

She puts herself out there via Facebook and the radio show. She makes claims as to her own competence...therefore she is a target and I think the Amerijet guys would be foolish NOT to picket the radio station or shine some disinfecting sunlight on her. Amerijet is not caring about the financial strain and stress they are putting the spouses of the strikers under...so why should the strikers care about the stress they put the CEO's wife, and a consultant to the company under?

If you are going to strike, go big or don't go at all. The only problem Joe Hill, John L. Lewis, or Jimmy Hoffa would have with this is that it hasn't happened already. Again, I support the strikers but am generally not a rabid unionist. I just think, if you are going to do something, go all the way.

Jeesh... I never thought I'd be donating money to the IBT. :)

It's for a VERY good cause this time though.

Done.

Several of them are repeat-offenders.

So, what is the point of a scab list, exactly? The scabs were scabs before, are scabbing again and getting paid, while the union "brothers" are out on their ass. Seems like they are doing a great job of protecting their "brothers".

No worries. Just be prepared to see your name on a list for the rest of your life if you fly their struck freight. The choice is yours.

To reiterate, the "repeat offenders" continue to fly and feed their families, while the "union brothers" are out on their ass.

More flights have operated than that. Ive personally seen two Amerijet flights at the outstations we fly to.

maybe so, but it doesn't change the fact that what they are doing is cruel and vile. If they want to earn their money in a scummy way then all power to them. The rest of the world still has self respect and way outnumbers them. Happiness is not only measured in the balance of one's checking account. I would much rather have a network of friends to support me then to sell them all down the river for a couple of weeks of lost pay.

The list has very little to do with protecting union pilots. It mostly has to do with wrecking the lives (where ever possible) of scabs.

The scabs will not be hired at several airlines ever, they will not be allowed jumpseat access, they will not even be given the time of day!

But these repeat offenders were hired by Amerijet, and are continuing to fly.
Ya, look at where they had to go to get a job... Amerijet! Obviously Amerijet has no problem hiring scabs.

They will never have a chance at a good carrier due to their label as a scab.
