That's quite an exercise in lack of judgement. I don't know if someone who does that can be trusted. Depends on age and level of maturity when she actually forged it. If she was 12 at the time and it didn't get caught for years, then I'd say there's a chance she could be trusted. But if she did it at an older age, I don't know...I wouldn't hire someone like that.

I don't get why someone would do that. Risk loosing their rating after paying so much money for it.

I understand but don't condone the fudging the numbers. But forging the instructors signature is a no no.

:yeahthat: Lots of money down the tubes.

I do not see why somebody would do this. We all work very hard for our ratings, and to throw them away like that is assinine. I personally like seeing my progress through my logbook, and knowing that I have earned to be where I am at today. I realize that these things do take place, and some people get away with it, and some don't. But being an airline pilot is one of the more prestigious job titles. And with that comes more responsibility and professionalism. Forging a Logbook is not professional, nor moral. When I get a job working for an airline I will know that I deserve to be there. People that cheat, do not.

Knowing what happened, I would agree with everybody saying find a different career. Any place that would hire you with that on your record is not a place you'd ever want to work. We all make mistakes, but this wasn't a mistake as much as blatant and intentional disregarding of FAR's. I honestly think she got of easy by the FAA. I'd say fly for fun and find a different career is the best option.

Could you imagine as a CFI prepping a students records and find multiple forged entries...lol...words would be exchanged!

Done.

That truly and utterly sucks. If a student forged my signature, I probably wouldn't report him/her to the FAA, but I'd definitely kick them out of the flight school. I guess it depends on the circumstance.

if she was, i doubt the cfi would report her

:sarcasm: now dont read me the riot act!!:buck:

Just what I was thinking...

"Why did you do this? This can get us in tons of trouble."
"I didn't realize that it was that big of a deal... Im sorry"
"Well it is a huge deal and is very immoral and unethical"
"I felt really bad after I did it, what can I do to make it up to you..."
"Giggidy"
