Kansas City PEPC

It somehow was more effective the second time around... :buck:

I think I owe you a drink. Now that I'm spending less on the car rental, I can use my savings to buy a round for the 18th-ers. ;)

How come nobody is commiting to an adult beverage ceremony? Am I scaring you away? :D

Yes, it's because of the llama-cumber in your signature :laff:

There's a shuttle that runs between the airport and downtown hotels every 30 minutes. Instead of getting a rental car and paying for parking at the hotel, I'm taking the shuttle route.

My appointment is on the 17th and I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency. Anyone interested in getting together for a drink on the night of the 16th or 17th? I've seen a lot of chat about a social on the 18th, but I'll be gone by then.

I'm just taking a van from the airport to the Comfort Inn. Round trip is about $30.00. This trip to KC is already way over budget so I have to forgo the rental vehicle. The hotel is within walking distance, but that doesn't mean it won't rain/snow on the 20th...

You might want to reconsider going the route of the shuttle if possible. The hotel charges $29 roundtrip, or $17 each way. They run the shuttle at 5 till the hour, and 25 past the hour.

For those who are driving/renting a car, the hotel parking (if staying at the Hyatt Regency), is actually pretty cheap for a Hyatt @ $13 for the day (unlimited entry/and if you park yourself).

Just thought i'd share that info with you guys............19more days to go!!!

I just drove by the D.O.T. building today, and, MAN is the construction wild on Locust St.... down to one lane just South of the building.

If you folks are driving, come in from the North (over the Heart of America bridge) and it'll put you right there :D

ALSO: The little parking place is still there! One block to the West, there's a red and white banner on the building side that reads "Charlies Courthouse Parking," or something to that tune. I'd buy the extra rental coverage if you plan on parking there, though.

I'm not following you... why should I reconsider taking the shuttle? The shuttle I referred to is the van that others are referring to.

It's $31/round trip for the shuttle/van. No parking hassles... no driving hassles. Staying right downtown near the FAA. Rental car will cost me $60-75 for the 2 days I'm there, plus another $27 for parking. Plus gas. That's close to $100. Or I spend $31 and not have to worry about dealing with a car.

By the time I deal with the rental car people, it will take me 30 minutes just to get settled in the car, so the time it takes to wait for the shuttle/van will be a wash with getting the car.

My wife is coming along for the trip, so she'll just drop me off and pick me up whenever i call her. We're bringing our Garmin so that we can get around the city w/o getting lost.

DANG, lucky! I am bringing the Garmin but leaving the boyfriend at home. I guess I will have to park in the charlie's cracky parking lot haha

We are walking???? I didn't get that memo lol... I don't care, we are so close it should be a simple walk....

lol...oh yeah, forgot to tell ya. its 1000ft so i figured why not. probably be the same amount of time. oh just so ya know, i talked to the training manager at ZNY and i asked when we should expect to go to OKC, and he said he has classes set from now till March. so we should expect to go around march. not that much of a wait.
